Amersham is a Chilterns market town split between the historic Old Amersham and the newer Amersham-on-the-Hill built up around the station. Amersham station is a shared terminus for the London Underground Metropolitan line and Chiltern Railways. We often take couples to Shardeloes, the parkland and lake beside the Georgian country house on the edge of Old Amersham for a few quiet portraits, and The 17th century Market Hall in Old Amersham, alongside St Mary's Church is a lovely backdrop nearby.

Sacred moments, captured with respect

The saptapadi, the seven steps the couple take together, completes the marriage, and we photograph it with reverence. We photograph the couple's first steps together around the sacred homam fire. The thali, tied to the sound of the nadaswaram, is the sacred heart of the ceremony, and we capture it close.

The reception is the joyful finale, with the couple greeting hundreds of guests. The celebration often opens with the nichayathartham, the betrothal, and we are there for it. The bride's entrance in Kanjeevaram silk and temple jewellery is a highlight we love to capture.
