Buckingham is a historic market town on the River Great Ouse and was formerly the county town of Buckinghamshire. Buckingham has no railway station and is served by the A421 and A422 roads linking it to Milton Keynes, Bicester and Banbury. When there is time for couple portraits, Stowe Landscape Gardens, the National Trust gardens about three miles north west of the town is a favourite, and Buckingham Old Gaol, a landmark building in the town centre now used as a museum makes a memorable setting.

The oonjal, the gentle swing ceremony with its songs and warding off of the evil eye, is a moment we capture with warmth. We know the order of the mandapam rituals by heart, so we are always in position. We keep our distance during the most solemn moments and step in only for the joyful ones.

The reception portraits and the receiving line are covered to the very last guest. We photograph the bridal preparations, the draping of the Kanjeevaram silk and the jasmine in the hair, with a gentle eye. The celebration often opens with the nichayathartham, the betrothal, and we are there for it.
