Timing is everything in a Tamil wedding, and we plan our coverage around the auspicious muhurtham. We arrive early for the muhurtham, stay late and keep pace with every part of the celebration. A long lens and a light touch let us capture the sacred muhurtham from a respectful distance from the homam.

For portraits away from the celebration, Towneley Park, the parkland and gardens surrounding Towneley Hall works beautifully, and Towneley Hall, a historic manor house set in parkland on the eastern edge of the town adds a real sense of place.

We know the order of the mandapam rituals by heart, so we are always in position. The ammi midithal and the paalikai each have their place, and we capture them as they happen. The nadaswaram and thavil announce the sacred moments, and we are in position when they sound.

We capture the family moments around the bride and groom, not just the rituals. The reception portraits and the receiving line are covered to the very last guest. The oonjal swing, the singing and the rice balls offered to the couple are full of family warmth.
