We know the venues of London and the surrounding area well, and move easily between the temple and the reception.

We move quietly around the mandapam, capturing the thali tying as it happens rather than staging it. The nadaswaram, the jasmine and the homam fire all have their place, and we photograph each of them. We let the muhurtham unfold at its own pace and meet it with a quiet, watchful eye.

Much of our work takes us across Greater London; Edgware, a north London suburb with a strong Hindu and Jewish community, and the towns around it, including Burnt Oak, Stanmore and Mill Hill, are very familiar to us. The most sacred parts of the day are captured from a respectful distance with a quiet long lens. From the kanyadaanam to the saptapadi, the ceremony tells its own story, and we follow it closely. We photograph the lighting of the homam and the blessings of the priests with respect.

The mehndi, the nichayathartham and the nalangu each carry their own mood, and we photograph them all. We photograph the bridal preparations, the draping of the Kanjeevaram silk and the jasmine in the hair, with a gentle eye. The grihapravesam welcomes the bride into her new home, and we are there for it.
