Serving Liverpool

The story of your Liverpool wedding

Liverpool is a great maritime city with a diverse community. Across Bootle, Wavertree and Allerton and the rest of Merseyside, we cover the muhurtham, the ceremony and the reception with a careful eye. We cover the whole of the North of England, and Liverpool and the towns around it are well known to us.

We photograph with warmth and respect, mindful of the meaning behind the thali and the saptapadi. We blend candid storytelling with a handful of timeless portraits in your Kanjeevaram silk and temple jewellery. We move quietly around the mandapam, capturing the thali tying as it happens rather than staging it.

We have photographed Tamil weddings throughout Bootle, Wavertree and Allerton for many years, and Liverpool, a great maritime city with a diverse community, is a familiar and welcome destination. We also cover nearby Chester and Bradford. Local Tamil wedding venues we know near Liverpool include The Adelphi Hotel, The Shankly Hotel and Thornton Hall Hotel.

Liverpool is a maritime city on the Mersey with a diverse community, celebrated waterfront heritage and a rich musical history. Liverpool Lime Street is the city's main terminus and the oldest mainline terminus still in operation, with the M62 approaching from the east. When there is time for couple portraits, Sefton Park, a large Victorian public park in the south of the city is a favourite, and The Royal Liver Building on the Pier Head waterfront makes a memorable setting.

What we offer

Tamil wedding coverage in Liverpool

01

Whole-Day Story

From the early muhurtham to the last of the reception, every ritual told as one story.

02

The Reception

The entrance, the greetings and the celebration after the thali tying, captured to the very last guest.

03

The Muhurtham

We are ready for the early-morning auspicious hour that sets the pace of the mandapam rituals.

Every tradition

Every ritual, photographed with care

The oonjal, the gentle swing ceremony with its songs and warding off of the evil eye, is a moment we capture with warmth. We keep our distance during the most solemn moments and step in only for the joyful ones. At the heart of a Tamil wedding is the maangalya dharanam, the tying of the thali that seals the marriage.

The mehndi, the nichayathartham and the nalangu each carry their own mood, and we photograph them all. We photograph the warmth of the two families meeting at the sammandhi mariyathai. The sumangali prarthanai gathers the married women of the family in blessing, and we photograph it with care.

The whole celebration

From muhurtham to reception in Liverpool

The celebration usually builds gradually, from the quiet of the nichayathartham to the joy of the wedding morning. A South Indian celebration might open with the sumangali prarthanai and the blessings of the family's married women.

From the early-morning preparations to the reception, we give every part of the day the same care. For the busiest days, a second photographer covers two moments at once, the ceremony and the guests.

Why choose us

The right photographer for your Liverpool wedding

We bring the steadiness that only comes from photographing muhurthams and mandapam rituals for twenty-five years. Twenty-five years behind the lens means we know exactly what follows the maalai maatral in the order of the day.

We factor in travel and the early muhurtham start carefully, so we are in position before the nadaswaram begins. We are London-based but rarely in London; much of our work takes us to temples and mandapams across the North of England.
