Maidenhead station is on the Great Western Main Line and is a western terminus of the Elizabeth line, close to junctions 8 and 9 of the M4. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Boulters Lock and Ray Mill Island beside the Thames, and Brunel's Maidenhead Railway Bridge, known for the Sounding Arch, and the Georgian road bridge over the Thames gives the day a strong sense of Maidenhead.

The maalai maatral, when the couple exchange garlands lifted high, is a moment of pure joy we love to photograph. At the heart of a Tamil wedding is the maangalya dharanam, the tying of the thali that seals the marriage. We photograph the couple's first steps together around the sacred homam fire.

The celebration often opens with the nichayathartham, the betrothal, and we are there for it. The oonjal swing, the singing and the rice balls offered to the couple are full of family warmth. The mehndi is intimate and detailed, and we photograph both the henna and the laughter around it.
