Temple & Mandapam
Discreet, respectful coverage around the Iyer and Iyengar priests and the homam fire.
A Tamil wedding photographer for couples in Norwich, capturing the joy of the maalai maatral and the devotion of the homam alike, captured as it happens and never staged.
Serving Norwich
Norwich is a cathedral city with a diverse community. We travel throughout Norfolk for mandapam ceremonies, and Thorpe St Andrew, Costessey and Sprowston are all familiar to us. From Norwich we cover weddings right across Norfolk, at temples, kalyana mandapams and banqueting suites.
We work discreetly around the Iyer and Iyengar priests, never intruding on the moment the thali is tied. A long lens and a light touch let us capture the sacred muhurtham from a respectful distance from the homam. We balance documentary coverage with a few quiet portraits, so your album holds both the nadaswaram's energy and elegance.
We are often in Norwich for Tamil weddings, and from London the area, taking in Thorpe St Andrew, Costessey and Sprowston, is an easy journey. Norwich is a cathedral city with a diverse community. We also photograph in nearby Huntingdon and Ipswich. Local Tamil wedding venues we know near Norwich include Sprowston Manor, Dunston Hall and The Norfolk Mead.
Norwich is a cathedral city in Norfolk with a well preserved medieval street pattern and a diverse population. Norwich railway station is the terminus of the Great Eastern Main Line, with the A11 and A47 serving the city. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Eaton Park, an Edwardian park with formal gardens and a bandstand, and Norwich Cathedral, a Norman cathedral with the second tallest spire in England gives the day a strong sense of Norwich.

What we offer
Discreet, respectful coverage around the Iyer and Iyengar priests and the homam fire.
Fine prints and framed art of the maalai maatral and the thali tying to bring home.
The seven steps the couple take together around the homam, photographed as the marriage is sealed.
Every tradition
At the heart of a Tamil wedding is the maangalya dharanam, the tying of the thali that seals the marriage. The blessings of the elders and the sammandhi mariyathai close the ceremony, and we capture them with warmth. We photograph the lighting of the homam and the blessings of the priests with respect.
The reception is the joyful finale, with the couple greeting hundreds of guests. We are glad to cover a single event or the whole multi-day celebration. The sumangali prarthanai gathers the married women of the family in blessing, and we photograph it with care.

The whole celebration
We arrive in good time for each pre-wedding event and stay until the celebrations wind down. We can join you for a single event or follow the whole journey from the very first ritual.
The best galleries are spread evenly across the day, not saved for the thali tying alone. Just fifteen minutes is enough for a handful of timeless portraits near your venue.
Why choose us
We are award-winning photographers with a long history of Tamil and South Indian mandapam weddings. Our experience across Iyer, Iyengar and Sri Lankan Tamil weddings runs deep.
We cover East Anglia and beyond, and are glad to travel further afield for the muhurtham on request. We will travel to your temple, your kalyana mandapam and your reception, wherever the maalai maatral and the thali tying take place.

Where we travel
We photograph across Norfolk regularly, and travelling to a kalyana mandapam in Norwich is second nature. An early muhurtham often means an early start on the road, and we plan the drive to the mandapam without fuss.

Yes, and they are among our favourite parts of the celebration. The oonjal swing with its songs, and the playful nalangu games between the two families afterwards, are full of warmth and laughter, and we capture every bit of it.
Absolutely. The nichayathartham, the mehndi and the sumangali prarthanai are often where the warmest, most natural moments happen, and we are glad to cover them as part of your wedding, with the same care as the ceremony itself.
Yes. We know the flow of a Tamil ceremony by heart, from the kashi yatra and the maalai maatral to the oonjal, the kanyadaanam, the thali tying and the saptapadi, so we are always ready for each one in turn.
