We learn the sequence of your particular ceremony beforehand, so whether it is Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati or Tamil, we anticipate each ritual rather than chase it.

We bring a long lens and a light touch, so the most sacred parts of the day are captured from a respectful distance. We work discreetly around the priest, the granthi or the imam, never intruding on a sacred moment. We plan our movements so the couple never feels managed, staying near enough to catch everything and far enough to let the day belong to you.

Norwich railway station is the terminus of the Great Eastern Main Line, with the A11 and A47 serving the city. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Eaton Park, an Edwardian park with formal gardens and a bandstand, with Norwich Cathedral, a Norman cathedral with the second tallest spire in England close by for a striking backdrop.

The Mandap, the Palki and the Rites Within

We photograph the seven steps of the saptapadi and the couple's first steps as a married pair. The kanyadaan and the joining of hands at the mandap are photographed with quiet care. From the kanyadaan to the saptapadi, or the first laav to the last, the ceremony tells its own story and we follow it.

The haldi or pithi is full of colour and play, and often holds the warmest, most natural moments. Preparations hold a quiet anticipation of their own, and we photograph the jewellery, the tying of the turban and the last still moments before the day begins. For Muslim families the walima is a warm celebration in its own right, and we cover it in full.
