Capturing Asian weddings in Huntingdon
One long wedding is not what a multi-day booking amounts to. It amounts to three or four separate productions with their own rooms, their own clothes, their own guest lists and their own light, and the only element running through the lot of them is the pair of you. So each gets planned as its own job first, and then we go looking for whatever carries across the joins, because that thread is what an album needs, and it is rarely on anybody's list.
Around here that means moving between buildings. The Old Bridge Hotel, Huntingdon Racecourse and The George Hotel are the venues in the town, and a weekend can easily use two of them plus somebody's house. What gets overlooked is the travelling. Fifteen minutes beside an open car door, grandparents being helped down, a bride keeping her skirt off the tarmac: unplanned pictures come from exactly there, so slack goes into the schedule to allow for it.

Every tradition
From the baraat to the muhurtham
Where ceremonial authority lies changes from one tradition to the next, and pinning it down takes up most of our preparation. A person may hold it. A book may hold it. It can live in a document signed at a side table by two witnesses. This is not discoverable on the morning by walking in, so questions travel ahead of us: who conducts the ceremony, what is wanted from a photographer, and whether some part of the room should be treated as off limits.
The baraat is the genuinely unpredictable one, because it happens outdoors, on other people's time, with a drum. We handle it as reportage and make no attempt to direct it. A morning muhurtham, by contrast, runs to a clock and rewards being early and quiet. Those two opposite demands are the reason several days of celebration want a plan per event instead of one plan for the weekend.

Why choose us
Calm, experienced coverage in Huntingdon
Calm is a technical asset, not a temperament. By the third day a family is tired and small things escalate quickly. Someone who is not adding to that, who already knows what comes next and who asks for nothing at the wrong moment, will do more for your pictures than any list of equipment.

Kaushik Bathia founded the studio in 2001. More than a thousand weddings later he holds five European Gold awards and fellowships of the BIPP and the MPA.
Good to know
Asian weddings in Huntingdon, FAQs
We know the shapes well enough to anticipate them, and we ask anyway. One family differs from another more than one tradition differs from the next, so a running order from your officiant beats anything we might assume.
Yes, and right the way to closing. Stage lighting, performers in motion and a dark room form their own problem, which we would rather solve with fast glass and a touch of our own light than by firing flash across a dance floor for hours.
Colour, exposure and tone are corrected across everything we deliver. Skin work is done with a light hand as standard, and anything more involved, such as taking a fixed object out of a background, is handled on request.
We can list them for you, and we would still want to see the room before your date. Familiarity matters less than the specific questions: where light enters, what the ceiling does to it, and what a venue wants agreed ahead of time.
Of course. Whether it is an intimate ceremony with close family or a celebration of several hundred guests, we tailor our coverage to your day and your traditions. Every wedding matters to us, and we bring the same care and attention whatever the size of the gathering. Around Huntingdon we are glad to photograph at The Old Bridge Hotel and The George Hotel.
