Three days of celebration is not a single wedding photographed three times. The difficult part of booking several is never the ceremonies themselves, which are scheduled, lit, and full of people who know what happens next. It is the hours either side. Cars being loaded, a grandmother resting on a chair in a corridor, an outfit changed in a borrowed room: nobody briefs those and nobody lights them, yet they are where a family looks most like itself. Treat the gaps as travel time and you deliver postcards.

In Cambridge those gaps are also the logistics. Access is a question rather than an assumption, and a weekend crossing two addresses needs a route agreed as carefully as the running order. Downing College, Madingley Hall, Jesus College and Trinity Hall are the four names here. What alters our coverage, though, is not which you choose but how many separate addresses the weekend contains and whether guests are arriving off trains in between.

In another the building's own custodians rule on where a lens may point, and the couple have no say in it. In a third, an aunt outranks the printed schedule and everybody present knows it. We establish which of those applies at the planning meeting, so nobody need break off mid-ceremony to tell us.

The same goes for weight. One family's entire weekend leans on a single mandap. For another the binding minutes are a nikah that is over almost before the room settles. Elsewhere it is the laavan that carries everything and hospitality fills the rest. Since these are plainly not versions of one another, we ask which hour you would keep if you could keep only one, and staff the days around that answer instead of spreading two cameras evenly across three.

Do you provide a second photographer in Cambridge, and when is it worth it?+

Often, and the test is structural. Two buildings in play, two events overlapping, or a room where the couple and the parents are never in the same place all argue for it. A single hall in Cambridge does not.

Have you worked with dhol players, DJs and other suppliers before?+

Yes, regularly. Dhol players want space cleared in front of them and someone already walking backwards. A DJ needs telling when speeches begin, or the room stays dark for them. We introduce ourselves to both before anything starts.

Can you cover a Gujarati wedding with its particular customs?+

Yes. Gujarati families tend to want the dancing covered properly rather than sampled, which changes staffing more than it changes shooting. Tell us which custom matters most to your grandparents; timings get built around that.

Will you travel to Cambridge for our wedding?+

Yes. The studio works out of Northwood, and Cambridge sits well within the range we cover, as does anywhere else the weekend takes you. Ordinary travel is included; anything unusual gets agreed in writing beforehand.

Can you photograph a wedding at an Asian banqueting hall in Cambridge?+

Yes, and those rooms are among the more forgiving: a low ceiling gives you something to bounce from, and the walls tend to be neutral. Our own lighting comes with us regardless, so what is fitted overhead makes no difference.
