The short answer
Kaushik Bathia has photographed Asian weddings across Cambridgeshire for over twenty five years, and couples in Peterborough choose him for calm, knowledgeable coverage of every tradition, backed by five European Gold awards. We photograph with warmth and respect, mindful of the meaning behind each ritual across every faith. Whether your wedding in Peterborough is Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim, Tamil or a fusion of traditions, we know the order of each faith's rituals and cover the whole celebration. More than a thousand celebrations sit behind us, and that depth means we recognise the mangalsutra moment, the fourth laav or the signing of the nikah before it arrives. You can add a second photographer, a female photographer and hand finished albums, and we are glad to travel across Cambridgeshire and beyond, so wherever your celebration is held it is within reach.
Serving Peterborough
Peterborough is a cathedral city with a strong South Asian community. Across Cambridgeshire, including Millfield, Stanground and Werrington, we photograph the colour and devotion of every Asian tradition. For Tamil and South Indian families, the muhurtham and the tying of the thali are the sacred centre of the ceremony.
We are a reassuring, familiar presence, so everyone relaxes and the day flows naturally. Across a long day we keep watching the edges of the room, where a grandmother's tears or two cousins laughing often say more than the staged group. We photograph the small moments as carefully as the grand ones, the glances as well as the rituals.
Whether your celebration is in Peterborough itself or elsewhere in Cambridgeshire, we plan travel and timings with care. Peterborough is a cathedral city with a strong South Asian community. We also photograph in nearby Cambridge and Huntingdon. Close to Peterborough, we have worked at venues including Orton Hall Hotel, Eastern Pearl Banqueting Hall and Personal Touch Banquet Hall.
Peterborough is a cathedral city in Cambridgeshire with a large and growing South Asian community. Peterborough railway station lies on the East Coast Main Line with fast services to London King's Cross. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Ferry Meadows Country Park within Nene Park, with lakes and open meadows, with Peterborough Cathedral, a Norman building with a striking West Front close by for a striking backdrop.

What we offer
A sneak preview soon after the wedding, with your full gallery and album to follow.
The dhol, the dancing and the groom's joyful arrival, photographed with all of its energy.
For large celebrations, a second shooter covers the baraat and the preparations at once.
Every tradition
The blessings of the elders close many ceremonies, and we capture them with warmth. Around the sacred fire, the seven steps of the saptapadi bind a Hindu couple together, and we photograph each vow from close enough to feel its weight. The kanyadaan and the joining of hands at the mandap are photographed with quiet care.
The mehndi or henna night is intimate and detailed, and we photograph both the henna and the laughter around it. We photograph the milni, when the two families meet, with all of its warmth. The mehndi evening is close and detailed, henna curling across the bride's hands while the room fills with song, and we photograph the artistry and the laughter alike.

The whole celebration
The sangeet brings an evening of rehearsed dances and late-night music before the wedding day itself. Haldi mornings tend to be messy and full of feeling, so we keep our distance where it helps and move in close when the turmeric starts flying between cousins.
We move with the day rather than against it, following the ceremony into the meal and the meal into the dancing without ever pulling you out of the moment. We think about the whole arc of the day before it starts, mapping the light, the venues and the meals so nothing important is rushed and nothing quiet is missed.
Why choose us
Twenty-five years in, we still prepare for each wedding as though it were our first, learning your family's particular customs before we lift a camera. We have spent twenty-five years learning the detail of Asian weddings, and it shows in every gallery.
We are London-based and travel across Cambridgeshire and the wider region for Asian weddings. When your ceremony and reception sit in different towns across Millfield, Stanground and Werrington, we map the day in advance so no minute of coverage is lost in transit.

Where we travel
We are based in London and think nothing of the drive across Cambridgeshire, so travelling to your venues is simply part of how we work. We would rather arrive early and wait than keep you waiting, so we allow generous time for the drive to and around Cambridgeshire.

Good to know
We have photographed Asian weddings for more than 25 years, across over a thousand celebrations of every tradition, and that experience shows in how calmly we work. We know the rituals, we respect each faith, and our documentary style gives you honest photographs that feel like your day, not a template.
Yes, very. Tamil and South Indian weddings in Peterborough are familiar to us. We photograph the muhurtham, the tying of the thali and the many rituals involved, and we understand their early timings and their sequence.
Asian receptions often carry on well into the evening, and we plan our coverage to see the day through to the moments that matter to you. We agree the finishing point in advance, and if the celebration overruns we will always discuss options rather than simply pack away.
Yes, of course. Being London-based, we are used to travelling to venues of every kind, and reaching Peterborough is no trouble at all. Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim and Tamil weddings are our speciality, so distance never stands in the way of covering your day.
Yes. Not every celebration is a five-hundred-guest affair, and we are just as happy photographing an intimate nikah, a family engagement or a registry ceremony followed by a small gathering. The same documentary care applies, whatever the scale of your day.
Yes, always. Using quiet, long-lens work, we photograph the vows and the sacred rituals from a respectful distance, whatever the faith, so the ceremony is never disturbed. Because our style is documentary, your Peterborough day feels like yours, and we stay a calm, unobtrusive presence throughout.
Experience is the answer. After more than a thousand weddings, we read the pace of an Asian day instinctively, moving ahead of the action rather than chasing it. A second photographer covers a different angle at busy moments, so nothing important slips past unrecorded.
