The Mandap, the Palki and the Rites Within

The blessings of the elders close many ceremonies, and we capture them with warmth. Around the sacred fire, the seven steps of the saptapadi bind a Hindu couple together, and we photograph each vow from close enough to feel its weight. The kanyadaan and the joining of hands at the mandap are photographed with quiet care.

The mehndi or henna night is intimate and detailed, and we photograph both the henna and the laughter around it. We photograph the milni, when the two families meet, with all of its warmth. The mehndi evening is close and detailed, henna curling across the bride's hands while the room fills with song, and we photograph the artistry and the laughter alike.
