Braxted Park can be booked on a dry-hire basis, and it says so plainly: that lets you arrange your own caterers and bar service. For an Asian wedding that settles the catering question before anything else. It also publishes a full rate card for 2027 to 2029, a dedicated Dressing Room and free parking with attendants.

Braxted Park rate cards for 2027 to 2029

Braxted Park publishes its prices on rate cards linked from its dates and prices page. They cover 2027, 2028 and 2029 only; no 2026 prices are printed. The 2027 figures, as published:

All-inclusive location fee, low season (February, March, November, December): £2,400 Monday to Wednesday up to £4,850 on a Saturday.
All-inclusive location fee, mid season (April, May, October): £3,700 up to £6,950 on a Saturday.
All-inclusive location fee, high season (June to September): £4,950 up to £10,150 on a Saturday, rising to £10,350 in 2028 and £10,550 in 2029.
Food and drink per head: welcome reception £31.75, adult day guest package £127.50, evening food from £24.95, children's package £45.
All-inclusive minimums: 60 adult day guests and 30 evening guests, or 80 and 40 on mid and high season Saturdays.
Dry hire for up to 350: £10,650 to £17,740 in low season, £11,850 to £19,750 in mid season and £13,700 to £23,650 in high season, Saturday being the top of each range.
Dry hire includes chairs for 350, trestle tables for caterers, a catering kitchen, a bar area (without staff or glassware), a dance floor, a stage and parking. The dry-hire card lists a £350 bin charge and advises booking a wedding co-ordinator for the day.
Refundable events deposit: £600 all-inclusive, and twice that for dry hire.

Dry hire, the Woodlands ceremony, and what the estate does not publish

What it does not publish: an approved caterer list, which rooms carry the civil licence beyond the ceremony settings it names, a finish time, and whether a mandap, an open-flame havan or a baraat is permitted. Dry hire usually implies latitude, but it is not written permission for open flame. Ask for each in writing.

Braxted Park publishes more on getting ready than most venues. The Dressing Room is described as a secluded, self-contained courtyard retreat with a private bathroom, hair and make-up stations and plenty of natural light; the rate card adds a shower, long mirrors and dressing tables. A second private retreat is offered for your partner, and on the morning of the wedding the Garden Cottage, the honeymoon suite, can be used as a secondary dressing room. The rate card also lists 12 en-suite Stable Rooms at £160 per room for family who want to stay.

A Pavilion for 350, a walled garden and 500 acres

Dry hire means the room arrives empty and your decorator builds it. What the Pavilion looks like on the day is decided by your supplier, not by the venue, so a site visit with the decorator is worth more here than at a venue with a fixed look.

The walled garden sits directly outside the Pavilion, so a portrait slot costs minutes rather than a coach move.

An estate of 500 acres with woodland, a walled garden and a Georgian house gives three different backdrops. The cost is walking time, and in an Essex winter the usable light is short, so the portrait order should follow the sun.

The torch-lit driveway and garden flares the venue supplies make an evening arrival picture worth planning, especially in December.

Braxted Park is a Georgian house on a 500-acre wooded estate at Great Braxted in Essex. The spaces the venue names are the main house, the Pavilion, the Orangery, a walled garden, the woodlands, the Garden Cottage and a converted stable block of guest rooms. It does not publish a listing grade, and we have not asserted one.

The Pavilion carries a large wedding and overlooks the walled garden with its flowerbeds and water features. The venue describes the woodland ceremony space as set around a 600-year-old tree.

Great Braxted, Essex, and the distance to plan for

Braxted Park Road, Great Braxted, Witham, Essex CM8 3EN. The venue asks arrivals to follow the signs for the Wedding Venue, not the Golf Club, when reaching the area. Our studio is in Northwood, on the other side of London, so travel is planned into the day and any overnight stay is quoted in writing before you book.

Free parking with attendants at Braxted Park

The Braxted Park rate card lists free car parking and attendants as an inclusion, and its dry-hire card includes parking too. The wedding page adds that with everything on one estate there is no transport or parking to arrange between ceremony and reception. Braxted Park is at Great Braxted, near Witham in Essex, on the far side of London from our studio at 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU, and it is the furthest venue in our guides. We travel from Northwood, and travel and any overnight stay are quoted in writing before you book. On the day the journey is planned into the schedule rather than assumed. In an Essex winter the usable light is short, so we would plan portraits in the walled garden and woods early.
