Knebworth House and Barns Weddings: Capacity & Prices

Knebworth weddings happen in two places: the Knebworth Barns, a group of converted barns in the park, and Knebworth House itself, whose Banqueting Hall takes ceremonies and smaller wedding breakfasts. The venue's 2026 brochure publishes package prices to 2028 and the capacity of each room.

We are a wedding photography studio in Northwood, HA6, established 2001 and rated 4.8 out of 5 from 580+ Google reviews. We photograph weddings of every tradition, Asian ceremonies among them, and we are glad to photograph at Knebworth. Below is what the venue publishes, and what it does not.

Knebworth capacity and 2026 prices

Capacity first, because the rooms differ. The weddings page gives 50 to 150 for the wedding breakfast and up to 300 in the Barns for an after party. The 2026 brochure gives the Banqueting Hall in Knebworth House 100 for a ceremony and 80 for the wedding breakfast, and the Garden Gazebo up to 160. Packages go up to 180 guests.

Prices, from the 2026 brochure and the venue's package PDFs:

Barns wedding package: £140 a head in 2026, £145 in 2027 and £150 in 2028, minimum 80 guests. Includes barn hire to midnight, a prosecco reception, a three-course breakfast, half a bottle of wine each, the toast, linen and chairs, a tasting and a coordinator.
Knebworth House Banqueting Hall package: £150 a head in 2026, £155 in 2027 and £160 in 2028, minimum 60, plus venue hire from £10,500 for 10 hours, or a ceremony only from £5,000.
Ceremony fees, 2026: Banqueting Hall £5,000, Garden Gazebo £2,500, Manor Barn £600, Lytton Barn £600.
All-inclusive summer or winter package: £8,000 for 70 guests, plus £140 for each extra guest, including VAT (PDFs uploaded December 2025, not dated inside).
Evening wedding package: £75 a head in 2026 and £85 in 2027, 6pm to midnight, minimum numbers apply.

The weddings and FAQ pages still show an older package at £130 (2024) and £135 (2025) a head; the 2026 brochure supersedes it.

One wedding a day, no dry hire, and petals only

Ceremonies can be held in a Barn, in the Banqueting Hall of Knebworth House or in the Garden Gazebo in the formal gardens, with the published ceremony fees above. There is only one wedding a day. Catering is provided on site and the venue does not offer dry hire, although corkage can be arranged for drinks.

Confetti: real or dried petals only, in external areas.
Fireworks: silent fireworks only, subject to grounds availability and the estate's approval.
Drones: not permitted.
Smoking: not allowed in the formal gardens; designated areas at the Barns.
Dogs: welcome in the barns for the ceremony and photographs.

Not published, so ask in writing: whether a mandap, an open-flame havan or a baraat is permitted, and whether a specialist caterer can work alongside the in-house team.

Getting ready in the Knebworth Park cottages

The 2026 brochure and the guest information sheet offer three cottages in Knebworth Park, bookable the night before and the night of the wedding, including as a space to get ready. The FAQ, however, says there is no accommodation on site, so confirm the cottages for your date. No bridal room in the Barns is named.

Barns, a Banqueting Hall, a gazebo and the formal gardens

A wedding here can use several locations, the Barns, the Banqueting Hall, the gazebo and the formal gardens, and every move costs time. Build the walks into the running order.

Because the evening capacity (300) is twice the seated one (150), the barn changes character between the meal and the dancing. Expect to relight.

Garden photographs are the point most likely to cause confusion on the day, because the FAQ and brochure differ on whether they are included. Settle it with the venue in writing before the day.

Equipment goes to SG3 6PY and guests go to SG1 2AX, so supplier briefs need the right postcode.

The A1(M), and two published postcodes

Knebworth Park, Knebworth, Hertfordshire, reached from the A1(M). The venue publishes two postcodes: SG1 2AX for sat nav, and SG3 6PY for deliveries to the Estate Office, Barns or House. The house directions page gives the distance as 29 miles north of London, while the FAQ and brochure say 25. We travel to Knebworth from our studio in Northwood.

Free parking for cars and coaches at Knebworth

The FAQ describes parking as abundant and complimentary for all events, with disabled parking in the main Knebworth Barns car park. The house directions page says parking is free for cars and coaches, and the guest information sheet repeats free on-site parking. No space count or overnight parking rule is published.

Knebworth Barns: rooms, capacities and 2026 prices

The Barns are where most Knebworth weddings take place. The 2026 brochure describes them this way:

Manor Barn: up to 160 for a ceremony and wedding breakfast; paired with the Lodge Barn, up to 250 in the evening.
Cobbold Barn: up to 120 for a wedding breakfast and 200 for evening entertainment.
Lytton Barn: up to 80 for a ceremony.

The venue's capacity page uses different layouts and so gives different figures: Manor Barn 150 banqueting and 180 theatre, Lodge Barn 120 banqueting, Cobbold Barn 200 banqueting and 300 standing, Lytton Barn 60 theatre. The barn wedding package is £140 a head in 2026 with a minimum of 80, and a ceremony in the Manor Barn or Lytton Barn is £600 at 2026 rates. Barn hire runs until midnight.

What is the capacity at Knebworth House and Barns?

The weddings page gives 50 to 150 guests for the wedding breakfast and up to 300 in the Barns for an after party. How much does a wedding at Knebworth cost?

The 2026 brochure prices the barn wedding package at £140 a head in 2026, £145 in 2027 and £150 in 2028, with a minimum of 80 guests. The Banqueting Hall package in Knebworth House is £150 a head in 2026 with a minimum of 60, plus venue hire from £10,500. Ceremony fees in 2026 are £600 in the Manor or Lytton Barn, £2,500 in the Garden Gazebo and £5,000 in the Banqueting Hall. An older £130 and £135 package still appears on the FAQ page. Can you have photographs in the gardens at Knebworth?

The venue's pages differ. The FAQ says photography and video in the formal gardens must be pre-arranged and may carry an extra charge, and that access to Knebworth House and its gardens is not included in packages. The 2026 brochure lists access to the formal gardens for photographs as part of the package. Get the answer for your booking in writing. Drones are not permitted anywhere, confetti must be real or dried petals and used outdoors only, and smoking is not allowed in the formal gardens.

Can you bring your own caterer to Knebworth?

No. The FAQ says the venue does not offer dry hire and that catering is provided on site, although corkage can be arranged for drinks. The barn package includes a prosecco reception, a three-course wedding breakfast, half a bottle of wine for each guest and the toast.
