Eastwell Manor is a neo-Elizabethan manor house at Boughton Lees, near Ashford, run today by Champneys as a hotel and spa. It is licensed for civil marriages, with three oak-panelled reception rooms and an Italian gazebo in the walled Maid's Garden, and its lawns take a summer marquee (wedding brochure). The house was largely built in the 1790s for the Earl of Winchilsea, and rebuilt on the same site between 1926 and 1928 after a fire (history).

Our studio is at 21 Joel St, Northwood Hills HA6 1NU, photographing weddings since 2001 and rated 4.8 out of 5 from 580+ Google reviews. Eastwell does not publish a rule on outside photographers, and we are glad to photograph at Eastwell Manor. Coverage starts from £750. Ashford is a long drive from Northwood, so travel is set out in the written quote before you book. Below is what the venue publishes, and what it does not.

What an Eastwell Manor wedding costs: the 2026 guideline prices

Eastwell publishes guideline package prices, the latest for 2026, based on 50 day guests and 70 at an evening reception. Extra day guests are £140 each and evening guests £30 (spring and summer weddings):

  • Spring and summer 2026: Sunday to Thursday from £15,980, Friday and Saturday from £18,640.
  • Winter 2026: Sunday to Thursday from £13,070, Friday and Saturday from £15,981 (winter weddings).
  • Twilight 2026, a late-afternoon ceremony into an evening party: Monday to Thursday from £10,730 (twilight weddings).
  • Exclusive use: from £25,000, with all 22 manor house bedrooms, three event rooms, the bar and restaurant (exclusive use).

The spring and summer package includes venue hire for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening, a glass of prosecco for the reception and the toast, a three-course wedding breakfast with half a bottle of house wine per person, an evening finger buffet for 70, nine manor house bedrooms on a bed and breakfast rate and a four-poster master suite for the couple. Eastwell has not published 2027 prices on these pages, so ask for a current quote. Registrar fees are paid to the Kent register office rather than to Eastwell (wedding brochure).

Ceremonies in the oak-panelled rooms or the Maid's Garden

The brochure lists three licensed rooms in the manor house and the walled Maid's Garden: the Bishop of Bayeux room for intimate weddings (up to 84), the Rose Garden Room (up to 135) and the Maid's Garden (up to 250) (wedding brochure). The twilight package offers a ceremony room from 4pm in one of the wooden-panelled rooms or outside in the Italian Maid's Garden. Marquee weddings run from 1 June to 31 August, for a minimum of 50 and a maximum of 150 guests on the marquee page (marquee weddings), although the brochure gives the marquee up to 250 for a wedding breakfast; confirm which applies.

Catering is by Eastwell's own head chef, with traditional British dishes in a contemporary style. Eastwell does not publish anything about Asian weddings, religious ceremonies, a mandap, or external caterers, and its packages are built around a set menu. If you need a specific menu or a religious ceremony, ask the wedding team in writing before you book.

What Eastwell publishes on photography and the day's rules

Eastwell's wedding pages say little about rules on the day. The twilight package includes "use of the grounds and courtyard for photographs" (twilight weddings), and the rest should be confirmed with the wedding coordinator.

A four-poster suite and the Champneys spa

The packages include a four-poster master suite for the couple on the wedding night, and the brochure describes Deluxe Suites with a 1930s design (wedding brochure). Manor House rooms include many with four-poster beds, and there are also Mews rooms in the converted Victorian stable block and Shepherd's Huts. The Champneys spa at Eastwell offers pre-wedding treatments. Which room is available for getting ready on the morning, and from what time, is not published, so ask the wedding team.

Planning photographs at the manor, the gardens and the North Downs views

  • The manor sits at the end of a long tree-lined drive, and the ivy-covered house is the backdrop Eastwell names for photographs (weddings).
  • The Maid's Garden is an intimate walled garden with an Italian gazebo and far-reaching views of the North Downs (wedding spaces).
  • The Rose Garden Room has bay windows over the grounds and wood-panelled walls; the Bishop of Bayeux Suite has large windows and a historic fireplace.
  • The summer marquee is fairy-lit with the manor as its backdrop, which suits evening photographs as the light drops.
  • The bar's outdoor terrace overlooks the gardens and is where the brochure places drinks.

From Sir Thomas Moyle's house to the 1920s rebuild

Eastwell's history page says the original country house was built between 1540 and 1550 for Sir Thomas Moyle, and much of the present manor was built in the neo-Elizabethan style between 1793 and 1799 for George Finch-Hatton, 9th Earl of Winchilsea (history). Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, lived there from 1874 to 1893; Queen Victoria visited often, and Princess Marie, later Queen of Romania, was born there in 1875. After a fire in the 1920s the house was rebuilt on the same site between 1926 and 1928. Champneys later bought and refurbished it.

Junction 9 of the M20 and Ashford International

From the M20, leave at junction 9 and head north-east on the A251, then turn left at the marked entrance. Eastwell warns that satnav routes west of Eastwell Lake lead to a no-through road (contact and directions). Ashford International is the nearest station, described as a short taxi ride away. We travel to Eastwell Manor from our Northwood studio; travel is set out in the written quote.

Parking at Eastwell Manor for wedding guests

Eastwell's wedding and directions pages do not publish parking arrangements for wedding guests, a space count, or overnight rules. Ask the wedding team, especially if you expect coaches.

How much is a wedding at Eastwell Manor?

Eastwell publishes 2026 guideline prices based on 50 day and 70 evening guests. Spring and summer weddings start from £15,980 Sunday to Thursday and £18,640 Friday and Saturday; winter weddings from £13,070 and £15,981; twilight weddings from £10,730 Monday to Thursday. Can you get married outside at Eastwell Manor?

Yes. The Maid's Garden, a walled garden with an Italian gazebo and views of the North Downs, is licensed for ceremonies. The twilight package lists a ceremony from 4pm in a panelled room or outside in the Maid's Garden. Marquee weddings on the lawns run from 1 June to 31 August.

Can I bring my own photographer to Eastwell Manor?

Eastwell does not publish any restriction on outside photographers, and its brochure credits several independent photographers for its images. Rules on drones, confetti and flash are not published, so ask the wedding team for them in writing before the day.

Yes. The brochure says the manor has 76 bedrooms and suites across the Manor House, the Mews in the former Victorian stable block, and Shepherd's Huts. The spring and summer package includes nine manor house bedrooms and a four-poster master suite on a bed and breakfast rate, and exclusive use includes all 22 manor house bedrooms.

Can we have an Asian wedding at Eastwell Manor?

Eastwell does not publish anything specific about Asian weddings, religious ceremonies, a mandap, or external caterers.
