Serving Chalfont St Peter
Chalfont St Peter is a picturesque Buckinghamshire village. Across Gerrards Cross, Denham and the rest of Buckinghamshire, we cover the muhurtham, the ceremony and the reception with a careful eye. We photograph at temples, kalyana mandapams and banqueting halls right across Buckinghamshire.
We photograph with warmth and respect, mindful of the meaning behind the thali and the saptapadi. We read the rhythm of a Tamil celebration and are always in position for the maalai maatral and the saptapadi. A long lens and a light touch let us capture the sacred muhurtham from a respectful distance from the homam.
Much of our work takes us across Buckinghamshire; Chalfont St Peter, a picturesque Buckinghamshire village, and the towns around it, including Gerrards Cross, Denham, are very familiar to us. We also cover nearby Denham and High Wycombe. Venues we know well in and near Chalfont St Peter include The Greyhound Inn, The Bull Hotel and Denham Grove.
A large Buckinghamshire village described as the gateway to the Chiltern Hills, with the chalk stream river Misbourne flowing through it. The A413 links the village towards Amersham and Gerrards Cross, with Gerrards Cross station on the Chiltern Main Line nearby. For portraits away from the celebration, Gold Hill Common, around 16 acres of open green and small woodland near the village centre works beautifully, and St Peter's parish church, a Grade II listed building dating from 1715 beside the Misbourne adds a real sense of place.

What we offer
The nichayathartham, mehndi and sumangali prarthanai, where the warmest moments often happen.
A handful of timeless portraits in your Kanjeevaram silk and temple jewellery, away from the mandapam.
The exchange of garlands lifted high above the guests, a moment of laughter and joy.
Every tradition
We know the order of the mandapam rituals by heart, so we are always in position. From the kanyadaanam to the saptapadi, the ceremony tells its own story, and we follow it closely. We photograph the kanyadaanam, the giving away of the bride, at the mandapam with quiet care.
The nadaswaram and thavil players fill the venue with music, and we photograph them at work. We photograph the warmth of the two families meeting at the sammandhi mariyathai. The oonjal swing, the singing and the rice balls offered to the couple are full of family warmth.

The whole celebration
The days before the wedding often hold the most relaxed, candid moments of the whole celebration. The muhurtham is often set for the very early morning, so the wedding day begins while it is still dark.
We keep the day flowing, moving smoothly between the ceremony, the family photos and the reception. The story often ends with the grihapravesam that welcomes the bride into her new home.
Why choose us
We have spent twenty-five years learning the detail of Tamil weddings, and it shows in every muhurtham gallery. We bring the steadiness that only comes from photographing muhurthams and mandapam rituals for twenty-five years.
Multi-venue days are never an issue; we plan the route and the early muhurtham timings in advance. We photograph Tamil weddings throughout the Home Counties, and Chalfont St Peter is firmly within the area we cover.

Where we travel
From our London base, Chalfont St Peter and the rest of Buckinghamshire are an easy, familiar journey for a Tamil wedding. We are used to celebrations spread across a temple and a banqueting suite, and keep the day flowing between them.

Good to know
Yes. A pre-wedding shoot is a lovely way to relax in front of the camera before the big day, and we are happy to arrange one at a location you love, whether a favourite spot in Chalfont St Peter or further afield.
Most Tamil weddings run from the early-morning muhurtham through to the reception, so full-day coverage works best. For multi-day celebrations with a nichayathartham and mehndi, we tailor the hours to the events that matter most to you.
Absolutely. The nichayathartham, the mehndi and the sumangali prarthanai are often where the warmest, most natural moments happen, and we are glad to cover them as part of your wedding, with the same care as the ceremony itself.
Very much so. The muhurtham, the auspicious hour, sets the pace of a Tamil wedding and is often very early in the morning. We arrive in good time so the kanyadaanam, the thali tying and the saptapadi are all captured calmly and on schedule.
Yes. We stay through the evening to capture the reception in Chalfont St Peter, from the couple's grand entrance and the greeting of the guests to the celebration, right to the very last person to leave.
