For Chalfont St Peter
An hour on the ground is the plan, though we will stop earlier if the children are done. We bring nothing that needs setting up outdoors, so there is no waiting about while equipment goes together.
Afterwards you get a gallery of finished images rather than a folder of raw files, and we always include a few frames of the children on their own and one of the grandparents with them, whether or not anyone asks. Those are usually the ones families come back for prints of.

What we offer
Sessions on Gold Hill Common, on ground level enough for a pram and short enough for small legs.
Grandparents can meet us at the location, so nobody has to be collected first.
Bad weather moves the booking indoors to our Northwood studio instead of cancelling it outright.
Why choose us
Newborns photograph best between roughly six and fourteen days, while they still curl and sleep deeply, though a session at any age is far better than no session. Babies who are genuinely unsettled are handed straight back. Nothing is gained by pressing on, and the frames taken once a baby has calmed are always the better ones.
Families who came for a newborn session often return at the first birthday, and the two sets are edited to sit together as one continuous story. Retouching on family work is minimal. Dribble and a grazed knee can go if you want them gone, but children are otherwise left looking their age.

Good to know
We certainly do. A milestone session marks each meaningful step as your little one develops, whether that is sitting unaided, first wobbly steps or a first birthday. Booking several through the year means you can look back fondly on every stage as it passed. Locally in Chalfont St Peter that takes in St Peter's parish church, a Grade II listed building dating from 1715 beside the Misbourne.
Yes, and we love to. Gentle portraits of a newborn alongside older brothers and sisters capture that first bond beautifully. We work at the children's pace, so the new arrival and the siblings all stay calm, and the connection between them shines through. Outdoors in Chalfont St Peter we would head for Gold Hill Common, around 16 acres of open green and small woodland near the village centre.
Yes, and usually at your own home in Chalfont St Peter rather than at the studio, since a newborn settles better somewhere familiar and you are not loading a car. Warm the room past what feels comfortable for adults, because a warm baby sleeps deeply and that is when the best frames happen. Late morning tends to suit. Have a feed, a spare change and plain bedding to hand.
Because you are not choosing the location blind. We talk through Gold Hill Common against the Northwood studio before the booking is made, based on the ages of the children and the time of year, and you can still switch on the day if the weather turns. We also cover Chalfont St Giles, Amersham and Chorleywood. Bring wipes, a snack and one spare outfit per small child.
We keep the turnaround fast, so you will not wait long. After the session we hand-pick and edit your images, then share a private online gallery. You can then take your time choosing prints, canvases and albums for your home. Getting to Chalfont St Peter is straightforward for us: The A413 links the village towards Amersham and Gerrards Cross, with Gerrards Cross station on the Chiltern Main Line nearby.

Gold Hill Common sits near the centre of the village, and for a family session that proximity does more work than the scenery does. The distance between where the car stops and where the camera goes is the whole battle with young children, because every minute spent walking is a minute of good humour spent before anything has been photographed. Sixteen acres is enough to find three or four different frames without crossing the place, so we settle in one corner and let the group stay put. Grass is the other thing to plan around. It is forgiving for a child who wants to be on the floor and unforgiving for anyone who does not, and from autumn through to spring it holds water long after the sky has cleared, which means an older relative in good shoes ends up standing for the entire session. When the group includes somebody who cannot get down onto the ground, we build the frames around a standing adult with the children arranged low, so the arrangement reads as a decision rather than a compromise. Small children spend their best behaviour early and have little left afterwards, so we photograph the children first and the adults second, never the other way round. The studio earns its place more often than families expect. In the dark half of the year the Common has usable light for a short window in the middle of the day, and that window is frequently when the youngest child sleeps. Indoors that clash disappears and the session runs to your timetable instead of the sun's.
