Photo Enlargement & Framing FAQs

That depends on the resolution of your file, but we can produce anything from a feature print to a large statement wall piece. We will advise on the best size for your image.

Yes. We offer made-to-measure framing in the studio so your enlargement arrives finished and ready to hang.

Yes, as long as the file is good quality. We will check the resolution and advise on the largest size that will still look sharp.

Just pop in. This is a walk-in service at our studio on The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU, open Monday to Saturday 10:30am to 6pm and Sunday 1pm to 6pm. Bring a print, negative or your phone and we will check the image and advise on size, paper and framing, with a free quote.

We enlarge onto fine-art and photographic papers for a traditional gallery finish, onto canvas for a softer, textured look, and onto acrylic or aluminium for a crisp, modern result. We will help you match the material to the image and the room it is going in.

Bring a photo of your wall or its rough measurements into the studio and we will help you visualise the finished piece. As a guide, a statement print usually looks best filling roughly two-thirds of the wall or furniture below it. We will always confirm the largest size your image can reach while staying sharp.

From small print to wall art

Enlarged to any size, on the finish you want

We enlarge photographs to almost any size, from a modest print that sits on a shelf right up to a large statement piece that fills a wall. Beyond traditional fine-art and photographic papers, we can print onto canvas for a softer, textured look, or onto acrylic and aluminium for a crisp, modern finish that suits contemporary rooms.

You do not need a perfect digital file to start. If you have one, we can work straight from it. If your favourite image only exists as an older print or a negative, we can scan it first and enlarge from the scan, so a treasured photograph can finally have the space it deserves.

Before anything is printed we colour correct the image and carry out gentle retouching where it helps, easing out a distracting mark or lifting faded tones, so the finished enlargement looks its best at size rather than showing every flaw.

The size we can reach depends on the resolution of the original, so it is always worth sending the file over or bringing the print in before you settle on dimensions. We will check what you have and advise on the largest size that will still look sharp, and if a scan will give a cleaner result than the file on your phone, we will tell you honestly rather than push a print that would disappoint.

Large photo enlargement on canvas in London

Finished and ready to hang

Framed to match your room

Once your enlargement is printed, we can frame it to measure so it arrives ready to hang. We will help you choose a mount and moulding that suits both the image and the room it is going in, whether that calls for a simple modern frame or something warmer and more traditional. It is the same in-house framing we offer through our bespoke picture framing service, so the whole job stays under one roof and stays personal.

Enlargements are a popular choice for wedding portraits, family photographs and gifts, and they make a thoughtful present for a big birthday or anniversary. A single strong image printed large and framed well often says more than a whole album, and it becomes something people notice every day rather than a file lost among thousands on a phone.

Turnaround depends on the size, the finish and whether framing is included, and we will give you a clear timescale when you enquire so you can plan around a date if you need to. Send us the image or pop into the studio and we will talk through sizes and options, or get in touch for a quote.

Choosing your wall art

How to pick the right piece for your room

Choosing wall art is easiest when you can see the options in person, which is exactly why this is a walk-in service. Bring your image and, if you can, a quick photo of your wall into our studio at The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU, and we will talk through size, material and framing together. As a rule of thumb, a single statement print looks best when it fills roughly two-thirds of the wall or the furniture beneath it, while a set of smaller enlargements suits a hallway or stairwell. Warm, textured canvas flatters portraits and landscapes; crisp acrylic or aluminium suits bold, contemporary rooms; and fine-art paper behind glass gives a timeless gallery feel. We will match the finish to both the photograph and your décor, then frame it to measure so it arrives ready to hang. We are open Monday to Saturday 10:30am to 6pm and Sunday 1pm to 6pm, no appointment needed, and you can see our other studio services too.
