United States visa and Green Card photos are 2 by 2 inches, which is 51mm square, on a plain white background with the head sized precisely within the frame. Indian visa and OCI photos are also 2 by 2 inches with their own head-size and background rules, while PAN card photos use a smaller format of their own. Schengen visas for travel across Europe use the 35 by 45mm European standard, while Chinese, Australian and Canadian visas each have their own dimensions and background shades.
Biometric requirements differ too, so the position of your head, the neutral expression and the way your face is measured within the frame vary from one country to the next. We photograph to the correct biometric standard for your destination rather than using a single generic template, which is what keeps applications from being sent back.
You get both printed photos and a digital file, and where an application is submitted online we can email the digital image to you in the required format and resolution. That means you are ready whether the embassy or portal asks for prints, an upload, or both.

What to bring for your visa or ID photo
The most useful thing to bring is the name of the country you are applying to, and any official photo guidance from the embassy, consulate or online portal if you have it, as this lets us match the exact size, background shade and head position required. If a previous photo was rejected, bring the rejection notice too, since it usually spells out precisely what needs to change. There is nothing else to prepare: you do not need to book, print anything or fill in a form first. For the photo itself, wear ordinary everyday clothing that contrasts with the plain background, keep to a neutral expression with your mouth closed, and remove hats or head coverings unless they are worn for religious reasons. We will guide you through the rest when you arrive, and if you are unsure of the specification we will look it up with you.
