Busy families
A short, focused sitting for families who want a quality picture without giving up an afternoon.

Short Christmas, Diwali, Eid and Easter mini sessions in the Northwood studio, for families who want one lovely festive picture without a long shoot.
The short answer
Christmas photoshoots run as short mini sessions at the studio on The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU, two minutes' walk from Northwood Hills station on the Metropolitan line and an easy drive from Harrow, Pinner, Ruislip and Watford. A mini session is a family portrait sitting of around 20 to 30 minutes that gives you a small set of edited images: enough for a card, a framed present and a few to share. Session dates are released in the run-up to Christmas, and to Diwali, Eid and Easter too; call or WhatsApp 07956 505383 to reserve one.
The session
You arrive, we talk through who is in the picture and the look you have in mind, and then the session moves quickly from one simple set-up to the next. Posing is guided throughout, so nobody is left wondering what to do with their hands, and little ones set the pace.
Grandparents, cousins and the family dog are welcome; tell us who is coming when you book so the space and the posing suit everyone. A studio session is unaffected by rain or short winter daylight, which matters when the cards have a deadline.

Christmas
For Christmas cards, book in October or very early November. That leaves time to edit the gallery, choose the image, design the card and get it printed and posted before the December rush, when print labs and posting deadlines are at their busiest. If you have a firm posting date, say so when you book and we will work back from it.
Warm, seasonal tones photograph well: deep red, forest green, navy, cream and soft grey, with knits or velvet for texture. Pick two or three colours between you rather than matching exactly, and leave large logos and slogans at home.
Diwali
Diwali is the one time of year many families are all dressed in their festive best, which makes it a natural moment for a group portrait. Jewel tones such as deep red, emerald, royal blue, magenta and gold photograph beautifully, as do sarees, lehengas, sherwanis and kurtas with gold detailing.
Sessions can run in the studio, with clean and consistent festive lighting, or at home among your own diyas and rangoli. Book before the festival week, ideally in October, because the days around Diwali are in the highest demand.

Eid
Eid brings extended and multi-generation families together in one place, often for the only time that year, so it is a good occasion for a proper group portrait alongside portraits of each household.
Eid sessions follow the same short studio format. Call or WhatsApp to tell us which days around Eid suit your family, and we will let you know the times on offer.

Easter and spring
Spring minis usually run on set dates, with several families booked across a day. The Easter holidays are a practical time for them, with children off school and families together, and the longer evenings help too.
