Excellent photography services before and during our wedding. Really enjoyed him being our photographer and he did a great job with the pictures. Working with him on the albums post wedding has been fantastic, he takes time to understand our ideas and portrays them in his work. Brilliant personality and very professional.

Nitesh P., Google review, 2016

We had our family portraits done many years ago with Kaushik Bathia and we loved them so we have now returned again this time with new additions to the family. On all the occasions we went Kaushik Bathia has taken care of everyone and made everyone laugh and smile especially the children in order to get the best photos.

Umberin M., Google review, 2021

Really pleased with my photos. Kaushik is very professional and took lots of picture for us to choose from. Our shoot was comfortable and not too long. I would highly recommend him.

The county from Northwood

How Buckinghamshire lies from the Northwood studio

Buckinghamshire runs north from the Thames and the Colne Valley, over the Chiltern Hills and into the Vale of Aylesbury, then on to Buckingham and Milton Keynes. The studio on Joel Street sits just outside its south-eastern border. Denham, a village about 2 miles north-west of Uxbridge and just north of junction 1 of the M40, is about 4.3 miles away, and Gerrards Cross and Chalfont St Peter are each about 6 miles.

Since 1 April 2020 everything outside Milton Keynes has been run by the unitary Buckinghamshire Council, which replaced the county council and the four district councils, Chiltern and South Bucks among them. Milton Keynes became a unitary authority in 1997 and a city in 2022. For most sessions the boundary makes no difference, but for weddings it decides which register office service you deal with.

Beyond the south-east corner, Amersham is about 10 miles from the studio, Beaconsfield about 10.5 and Chesham about 11. The Thames-side towns of Bourne End and Marlow are about 13 and 16 miles, High Wycombe about 15, Princes Risborough about 20 and Aylesbury about 23. Milton Keynes, at about 34 miles, and Buckingham, at about 37, are the far north. Kaushik drives out from Northwood to every one of them, and that travel is set out in your written quote.

Weddings

Weddings anywhere in Buckinghamshire, from Denham to Buckingham

Weddings are not limited by distance. Packages start from £750 and are built around the day you are planning, whether that is a twenty-minute register office ceremony in Beaconsfield Old Town or a three-day Sikh, Hindu or Muslim wedding that moves between a family home, a place of worship and a hotel suite near the M40. For a Bucks wedding you can add a second photographer, a pre-wedding shoot in the Chilterns or a hand-finished album.

Buckinghamshire Council holds its own ceremonies in six rooms: three in Aylesbury, at County Hall and the Judges Lodgings, two in Beaconsfield Old Town and one at High Wycombe Library. The council counts photographers, children and babies inside each room's limit, so the guest number you give it should include us. Milton Keynes has its own register office at Civic, 1 Saxon Gate East.

The full planning guide, with the ceremony rooms, the kinds of venue the county has and how a day works between towns, is on the Buckinghamshire wedding photography page. Mehndi, sangeet, anand karaj, nikah and walima planning has its own page for Asian weddings in Buckinghamshire.

Sessions

Sessions that come to you in south Bucks and the Chilterns

Family, newborn, maternity, couples, portrait, pet, headshot and event sessions work the same way across the county: Kaushik comes to you. That can be your living room in Chalfont St Peter, your garden in Amersham, a walk in Denham Country Park or Black Park, or your office in High Wycombe. Session prices are given on request by phone or WhatsApp on 07956 505383, because they depend on the session and where it is.

Some Buckinghamshire families prefer to come to the studio. Amersham, Chesham and Chalfont & Latimer stations are all on the Metropolitan line, the same line as Northwood Hills, and the studio is two minutes' walk from Northwood Hills station on the Joel Street parade. From Denham, Gerrards Cross and the Chalfonts it is a short drive across the Colne Valley.

For a session at a distance, a single visit can cover more than one thing. A newborn session at home in Beaconsfield can include a few portraits of the grandparents, and a family session on Gold Hill Common can finish with a short walk for the dog. Tell us what you want when you enquire, and the plan and the travel from Northwood are set out in writing.

Parks and permissions

Country parks, commons and woods: the rules worth knowing in Bucks

Buckinghamshire Council runs Denham, Black Park and Langley Park as country parks. It asks businesses that want to work commercially in them to contact its country parks team first, and filming needs an application, so allow time for that before a session there. Dogs are welcome in its country parks but are kept out of play areas, livestock areas and fenced special habitats.

At Denham Country Park cattle graze in the warmer months, and dogs go on a lead in the grazing areas while they are there, so check current grazing notices before the day. The park's easy-access 1.3-mile trail runs through wetland meadow and woodland, past the Colne and the Misbourne and close to the Grand Union Canal, where the Canal & River Trust records the deepest lock on the whole canal.

The parish commons in Chalfont St Peter have their own byelaws. Gold Hill Common and Austenwood Common have been regulated under the Commons Act 1899 since 1 May 1998, and the parish council's consent is needed before any tent, stand or other structure goes up, so a session there uses handheld kit and natural light. Burnham Beeches, managed by the City of London Corporation, limits each walker to four dogs.

Business

Headshots and commercial work along the M40 and the Chiltern line

South Buckinghamshire has a dense run of offices close to the studio. Bosch has its UK head office in Denham, the former Denham film studio land at Broadwater Park is now a business park, and Chalfont Park, once British Aluminium research laboratories, became a business park in 2000 to 2001. Pinewood Studios at Iver Heath has a community of more than 150 businesses on its lot.

Further in, Halma, a FTSE 100 company, has its headquarters in Old Amersham, and the National Film and Television School is based at Beaconsfield Studios. For any of these, headshots are taken at your office with a portable backdrop and lights, or you can send people to the Northwood studio. Prices for headshots and commercial work are given on request, and travel is quoted in writing with them.

Retail and product work suits the county's old market towns. Chesham keeps most of its independent and specialist shops on the High Street and in cobbled yards, Old Amersham holds its Saturday market under the 1682 Market Hall, and Beaconsfield New Town has two Arts and Crafts style shopping rows, Station Parade and The Broadway.

02

Amersham, Chesham and Chalfont & Latimer share the Metropolitan line with Northwood Hills, so a studio session from the Chilterns can be a train ride rather than a drive.
