Newly engaged couples

Relaxed couple portraits in the Northwood studio or somewhere that means something to you, from anniversaries to engagement and pre-wedding shoots.
The short answer
Couples photoshoots run from the studio on The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU, either in the studio itself or on location within about 20 miles, across North West London, Hertfordshire and the Chilterns. An engagement or pre-wedding shoot usually lasts one to two hours with one or two outfits, and studio portraits of the two of you are shorter. Sessions are booked in advance by phone, WhatsApp or the form below.
The session
We start gently, often just walking and chatting, so you settle in before the camera comes up. From there the session moves between lightly guided poses and candid moments: where to stand, how to hold each other, small prompts that produce natural pictures. Most couples forget the camera sooner than they expect.
In the studio, controlled light and clean backdrops give polished portraits in any weather. Outdoors, golden hour light and a place with personal meaning give the pictures their own story.

Engagement and pre-wedding
An engagement shoot, also called a pre-wedding shoot, is a relaxed session before the wedding. It gets you comfortable in front of the camera and builds a rapport with the photographer, which shows in more natural pictures on the day itself.
The images are ready months ahead for save-the-dates, a wedding website, a large print for guests to sign at the reception and announcing your news. For Asian weddings a pre-wedding shoot is often a bigger production with outfit changes, and it can be added to your wedding photography.

Wardrobe and places
Choose coordinated, comfortable outfits in muted, complementary tones without matching exactly, and avoid large logos and busy patterns. A second, slightly dressier look adds variety. Parks and countryside give soft, romantic backdrops, woodland feels intimate and urban streets bring energy; our guides to engagement shoot locations and pre-wedding shoot locations in London have ideas.
