Newly engaged couples
Announcement pictures and save-the-dates, taken close to home.

A relaxed session for the two of you, in the studio on Joel Street or out among Northwood's woods and tree-lined roads.
The short answer
Right here: the studio is on The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU, on the parade beside Northwood Hills station, so a couples or engagement shoot can start indoors and move outside within minutes. Ruislip Woods, London's first national nature reserve, is a short drive away, and the Arts and Crafts houses of the Northwood-Frithwood Conservation Area give a quieter street backdrop. Allow one to two hours for an engagement shoot with a change of outfit, or less for a studio portrait of the two of you. Book ahead by phone, WhatsApp or the form on this page.
Kaushik was a great help and took some great photos for my partner and I. I would highly recommend for all your photography needs.
Kaushik did a great job in taking both formal and informal portrait photos. He is an enthusiastic professional photographer who made me feel at ease. The photographs were excellent and have been greatly admired.
I went the studio for the photoshoot and Mr Batia is proffessional, courteous ,efficient and cheerful. I love my photos and will come again. Highly recommend.
In the studio
Plenty of couples like to begin under controlled light, where nothing depends on the forecast. We sit you together, try a standing frame or two, and give small, specific prompts until the pictures look like the two of you on a good day.
Because the studio is on your doorstep, a second session is easy to arrange if the first one sparks an idea, for example a portrait in the outfits you plan to wear on an anniversary or for a party.

Outdoors
Ruislip Woods covers 294 hectares of ancient oak and hornbeam woodland across Park Wood, Mad Bess Wood and Copse Wood, which gives soft, dappled light on bright days and a sheltered feel on breezy ones. The walled garden and old orchard at Eastcote House Gardens suit a gentler, garden look.
For something more architectural, the old High Street, Chester Road and Hallowell Road form a protected triangle of ornate Victorian brick houses, and the colourful Metroland mural runs along both sides of the bridge at Northwood Hills station.

Engaged?
An engagement session is a practice run that pays off on the day: you learn how we work, we learn how you stand together, and you come away with pictures for save-the-dates and a wedding website. It can also be added to wedding photography in Northwood.
Around Northwood
Most Northwood couples choose the studio, Ruislip Woods (entered from Reservoir Road), Eastcote House Gardens or the conservation streets around Green Lane and the old High Street. Your own garden or a place that means something to you works just as well.
Hillingdon Council asks anyone having professional photographs taken in its parks and green spaces, including personal shoots, to get permission from its Film Office first, so allow a little time for that when you pick a park. From Northwood itself the studio is one stop south on the Metropolitan line, or a short walk or drive along Joel Street.

Yes, for a natural, woodland look. It is a national nature reserve of ancient oak and hornbeam woodland, a short drive from the studio.
Yes. Because the studio is in Northwood, many couples start indoors and finish outside nearby within the same session.
An engagement or pre-wedding shoot usually runs one to two hours; a studio portrait of the two of you is shorter.
Prices are given on request by phone or WhatsApp, depending on length and location.
Your photographer is Kaushik Bathia, a fellow of both the BIPP and the MPA with five European Kodak Gold Awards, working from the studio he opened in Northwood in 2001.
