Great service and fantastic photos taken of myself and family. We were given a very warm welcome by Kaushik and I feel that was also reflected in the photos he took. So very pleased with the photos and would highly recommend Kaushik.

Google review, 2016

We had a fun and relaxing family photoshoot. Kaushik managed to make us all at ease and smile, especially our 1 yr old son. He was very efficient, professional and friendly. We viewed the beautiful images promptly, without any pressurised selling. Can't wait to receive the photos. Thanks for the great photoshoot!

The session

How a come-to-you family session works in Bucks

A family session lasts about an hour. Kaushik meets you at home or at the park, starts with the whole family together while everyone is fresh, then moves on to smaller groups: parents with each child, siblings together, grandparents if they have joined. Younger children play between pictures, and many of the best frames come from those moments rather than from posed lines.

Because Kaushik travels to you, the children stay in a place they know and nobody has to sit in a car for long before the session. Read family photography for what a session includes. The quote you receive in writing covers the travel from Northwood to your home or park, and the session price is given on request.

Chesham and Amersham

Ponds, stepping stones and playgrounds in the Chess Valley

Lowndes Park is Chesham's large central park, with a big pond, a new playground opened in 2025 and woodland walks towards the Pednor Valley. Nearby, The Moor is a flat open space beside the River Chess with a small waterfall, stepping stones and wet woodland, which children find hard to resist. The Chesham family page covers the town's smaller play areas too.

In Amersham, Barn Meadow in the old town looks across Old Amersham and has a playground and football pitches. Up the hill, King George V Playing Field has an award-winning infant playground and Hervines Park has a large recreation ground and a children's playground. The Amersham family page has more.

Commons, country parks and adventure play near Denham

Denham Country Park, about 4 miles from the studio, has an Adventure Zone playground for children up to 12 and an easy-access 1.3-mile trail where the Colne and Misbourne flow near the Grand Union Canal. Its visitor centre sits beside the Misbourne, with a gently sloping bank for river dipping. Langley Park at Iver adds the Jubilee Play Garden and spring rhododendrons.

In Chalfont St Peter, the parish council looks after Gold Hill Common and Austenwood Common; the Gold Hill play area was refurbished in 2023. The commons byelaws need consent before any tent or structure goes up, so a session there uses the grass as it is. See the Chalfont St Peter and Denham family pages.

Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross

Ward playgrounds, Walk Wood and Gerrards Cross Common

Beaconsfield Town Council runs a play area in each ward: Garvin Avenue in the New Town for smaller children, Malthouse Square in the Old Town with a zip wire and a bird's nest swing, and Holtspur Youth Park for older ones. Walk Wood, an ancient broad-leaved wood that was once part of Edmund Burke's grounds, gives a calm woodland setting a few minutes away.

Gerrards Cross Common runs through the town, with Latchmoor Pond at its western end. Black Park, with 500 acres of pine, woodland and heathland around a lake and a children's play area, is a short drive south. See the Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross family pages for local detail.

Seasons, ages and clothes

Choosing a season, an age and an outfit for Bucks woods and parks

Spring gives bluebells in Chiltern woods and rhododendrons at Langley Park; autumn turns the beech copper and gold. Summer sessions work best in the early evening, when the light is lower and the children are cooler. In winter we suggest a session at home, where a warm living room and the Christmas tree can do the work.

Toddlers are happiest with something to do, so a playground or stepping stones helps. Older children like to be given a job. For clothes, pick two or three colours that sit together, avoid big logos and choose footwear for mud. Babies under a year may suit a newborn session or a cake smash instead.

Planning

Planning around Buckinghamshire

01

Stepping stones in Chesham

The Moor's small waterfall and stepping stones beside the River Chess keep young children busy and happy.

02

Under-12 adventure play

Denham Country Park's Adventure Zone sits about 4 miles from the studio, close enough for a short session.

03

No tents on the commons

Gold Hill and Austenwood Commons need parish consent for any structure, so we bring nothing that needs setting up.

04

Winter at home

When Chiltern paths are muddy and light fades early, a home session keeps everyone warm and relaxed.

Family photography in Buckinghamshire: questions answered

Lowndes Park and The Moor in Chesham, Barn Meadow in Old Amersham, Denham Country Park, Gerrards Cross Common and Walk Wood in Beaconsfield all work well. We pick one based on your children's ages and where you live.

About an hour. That is long enough for groups, pairs and some play without tiring younger children. If grandparents are joining, allow a little longer so everyone has time in front of the camera.

That is part of family photography. Kaushik keeps the pace gentle, uses games and breaks, and photographs the play between poses. Most families find their favourite frames come from those unplanned moments.
