Licensing decides a civil wedding before taste gets a look in. Only certain rooms may hold the legal part, so the room picks you, and it is often not the prettiest one in the building. That is fine. The registrar's section is brief, everything afterwards belongs to you, and most of what you will still be looking at in ten years happens once the signing is finished and the room starts to empty.
