The short answer
For couples marrying in Preston, Kaushik Bathia offers award winning wedding photography, with more than twenty five years of experience and over a thousand weddings behind the camera. We photograph from a respectful distance during the vows and readings, letting the emotion play out untouched, then move closer only when the moment invites it. From intimate register office ceremonies to grand country house weddings, and from village churches to garden and marquee celebrations, we photograph every kind of wedding in and around Preston. We know that a wedding happens only once, so we bring the reliability of decades of practice and the care of someone who still loves the work. A second photographer, relaxed engagement shoots and hand finished fine art albums are all available, and we travel across Lancashire and the wider UK so distance is never a problem.
Serving Preston
Preston is a Lancashire city. Our work takes us to churches, garden venues, marquees, barns and grand houses all over Fulwood, Bamber Bridge and Leyland and the wider Lancashire. From the first steps down the aisle to the final walk back as a married couple, we follow your ceremony closely and let it breathe without any staging.
You lead the day and we follow it, photographing the details you have planned and the surprises you have not, all without interrupting the flow. During the quiet stretches we keep looking for the details you arranged, the flowers, the notes, the table settings, and fit them in without slowing anything down. We keep a low profile through the ceremony and speeches, using longer lenses from a distance so nobody feels watched and the real reactions come through.
We know Preston well and enjoy working here. Preston is a Lancashire city, and our coverage extends naturally to the surrounding towns, Blackburn and Burnley among them. Venues we have photographed at near Preston include Preston Marriott Hotel, Imperial Banqueting and Stanley House.
Preston is a Lancashire city with a large South Asian community and the historic Preston Guild tradition. Preston railway station is a major interchange on the West Coast Main Line, with the M6 and M55 nearby. We often take couples to Avenham and Miller Park, adjoining Victorian riverside parks by the River Ribble for a few quiet portraits, and The Harris Museum, a grand classical building in the Flag Market is a lovely backdrop nearby.

What we offer
We photograph what happens rather than direct it, keeping the day honest and letting the real moments lead.
A second photographer covers the other side of the day, from the groom getting ready to guest reactions you would otherwise miss.
Your favourite images are hand-finished into a printed album built to last, designed with you page by page.
Every kind of wedding
When two traditions come together in one ceremony, we photograph each part with equal warmth so the finished set honours both sides of your family. We time our movements to yours, staying still through the readings and the promises, then finding the right spot for the first kiss as a married couple. From the moment the doors open to the confetti afterwards, we treat the ceremony as the heart of the day and photograph it with patience and care.
We photograph the cake, the first dance and the evening party with an easy touch, so the celebration keeps its energy while we quietly gather the pictures. We love the in-between moments as much as the headlines, the flower girl asleep under a table, the grandparents on the dance floor, the quiet cigarette outside. We photograph the arrivals, the confetti and the drinks that follow, giving the reception the same care we bring to the ceremony itself.

The whole celebration
We can photograph both of you preparing in separate rooms, then bring the two halves of the morning together in one clear part of your gallery. Morning prep has its own rhythm, and we work quietly through it, letting the anticipation build in the pictures rather than staging it.
Some of the pictures you treasure most will be the small ones between events, so we stay present through the whole day and never switch off in the quiet stretches. Pacing matters, so we keep our energy steady from the first preparations to the last dance and photograph the lulls as thoughtfully as the peaks.
Why choose us
Experience means we anticipate what is coming next, so we are ready for the tears during the vows and the laughter in the room before either arrives. We back up every set of images in more than one place as soon as the day is done, so your photographs are safe long before your album is made.
When a day is spread out or the drive is a long one, a second photographer can travel with us so coverage across Lancashire stays unbroken. We are happy to follow you wherever the celebration leads, and venues throughout Lancashire are all comfortably within our reach.

Where we travel
Long journeys and remote settings suit us well, and weddings across Fulwood, Bamber Bridge and Leyland and the further reaches of Lancashire are all within easy reach. We are used to travelling for weddings, so reaching your venue in Lancashire is straightforward, and we happily follow the day from preparations through to the evening.

Good to know
With a little planning, the formal family photographs usually take around twenty to thirty minutes, leaving plenty of time for you to enjoy your guests. We suggest keeping the list to the groups that matter most, as very long lists eat into the celebration. We will guide everyone along warmly and keep things moving.
Of course. A wedding runs on teamwork, so we liaise happily with your planner, venue coordinator, celebrant, videographer and band to keep the day flowing. We stay aware of the schedule and step back for key moments like the ceremony and speeches, so everyone gets what they need without treading on each other.
Yes. We carry professional lighting and fast lenses, so dark ceremony rooms, winter afternoons and evening receptions are all manageable. We know how to work in low light without flattening the mood of a room. You do not need to change your plans around the forecast or the season.
We can, and many couples like us to stay through the speeches and first dance, as those are some of the warmest moments of the whole day. If you would prefer coverage to finish a little earlier, that works just as well. We will agree the finish time in advance so there are no surprises.
It depends on your plans, though most couples choose coverage from the morning preparations through to the first dance, which is around eight to ten hours. If you would like us there for only part of the day, that is absolutely fine too. Tell us your timings and we will suggest what fits your Preston celebration.
We carry professional backup cameras, lenses and lighting to every wedding, and we photograph to dual memory cards so images are written twice as we go. We also hold full professional indemnity and public liability insurance, which many venues ask to see. Nothing on a wedding day can be re-run, so this cover is not optional for us.
Once you are happy to go ahead, we hold your date with a signed agreement and a booking fee. Until both are in place we cannot promise the date will still be free, as we take a limited number of weddings each year. We would always encourage you to get in touch early to avoid disappointment.
