The short answer
Kaushik Bathia has photographed weddings across Lancashire for over twenty five years, and couples in Blackburn choose him for calm, natural coverage backed by more than a thousand weddings and five European Gold awards. During the quiet stretches we keep looking for the details you arranged, the flowers, the notes, the table settings, and fit them in without slowing anything down. We cover every kind of wedding in Blackburn, from church, civil and register office ceremonies to country houses, barns, marquees, hotels and garden venues, as well as multicultural and fusion celebrations. Trust is built on evidence, and between the awards, the albums and the long list of couples before you, there is plenty to reassure you before you book. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Lancashire and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Serving Blackburn
Blackburn is a Lancashire town. You will find us at home in a parish church, a converted barn or a smart hotel, and our venue diary reaches right across Darwen, Accrington and Great Harwood and the rest of Lancashire. We keep a respectful distance during the vows, using longer lenses so the intimacy of the moment stays between you while we still hold onto every expression.
Our approach is calm and observant; we anticipate the moments a beat before they happen, which is how the honest ones end up beautifully framed. Our documentary instinct means we are often looking where others are not, catching the reaction behind the speech and the smile just after the vows. During the quiet stretches we keep looking for the details you arranged, the flowers, the notes, the table settings, and fit them in without slowing anything down.
We travel to Blackburn regularly and always look forward to it. Blackburn is a Lancashire town, and we photograph weddings here and throughout the nearby area, Burnley and Preston included. We are at home at Blackburn-area venues such as Stanley House, Jans Conference Centre and Grand Venue.
Blackburn is a Lancashire mill town with a strong South Asian community and a long cotton weaving and textile heritage. Blackburn railway station sits in the town centre on the East Lancashire Line, managed by Northern, with the M65 running close by. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Corporation Park, a Victorian park with lakes and landscaped walkways north of the town centre, with Blackburn Cathedral, known for its lantern tower and aluminium spire close by for a striking backdrop.

What we offer
We set aside quiet time for portraits of the two of you, images made to be framed and enjoyed for years.
We stay from morning preparations through to the evening party, so every part of your day is photographed as it happens.
We work quietly and keep out of the way, so guests forget we are there and the day feels like your own.
Every kind of wedding
We photograph the exchange of promises gently, whether that happens at an altar, before a registrar or beneath an arch of flowers, so the pictures feel like the moment itself. The look you give each other as the words are spoken is often the picture you keep longest, and we are ready for it however your ceremony is arranged. Vows are the heart of the day, and we photograph them without fuss, moving carefully and keeping our distance so the moment stays entirely yours.
A pre-wedding or engagement session beforehand lets us get to know you, so that by the wedding day the camera already feels like part of the furniture. The cutting of the cake and the first dance often run close together, and we stay ready for both, keeping our light soft and our presence easy. We cover the details you have laboured over, the flowers, the table settings and the cake, then return our attention to the people who fill the room.

The whole celebration
We map the opening hours of the day with you, from hair and make up to the journey to the ceremony, so the beginning feels unhurried and calm. Getting ready is where a lot of the honest pictures live, so we are there early for the quiet nerves, the last checks and the first look in the mirror.
We pace ourselves to the day, not the shot list, so the finished gallery moves naturally from the morning through to the party. From the first cup of tea to the sparklers at the door, we keep the thread of the day intact so nothing feels disconnected in the final set.
Why choose us
We know the shape of a wedding day well enough to keep the formal pictures short and the day on track, so you get back to your guests quickly. We carry full backup cameras, lenses and lighting to every wedding, so a single piece of equipment can never come between you and your photographs.
Wherever the celebration takes you, we come along, covering venues throughout Darwen, Accrington and Great Harwood and right across Lancashire without a fuss. We are happy to follow you wherever the celebration leads, and venues throughout Lancashire are all comfortably within our reach.

Where we travel
A second photographer can join us when travel or a split-venue day calls for it, so coverage across Darwen, Accrington and Great Harwood and Lancashire stays seamless. We are used to travelling for weddings, so reaching your venue in Lancashire is straightforward, and we happily follow the day from preparations through to the evening.

Good to know
Yes, a second photographer is available and many couples add one. Having two of us means we can be with each of you during preparations, cover the ceremony from more than one angle and gather natural guest reactions. For larger or multi-day weddings a second shooter makes a real difference to how complete your gallery feels.
Full day coverage typically produces between 500 and 700 finished images, though the exact number depends on your guest count, the schedule and how much is happening. We do not pad the gallery with near-duplicates. Every photo you receive has been chosen and edited, so you get the best of the day.
We do. Your favourite images can be hand-finished into a fine-art album, designed with you page by page so it tells the story of the day in order. Printed on quality materials, it is built to be handled and passed down. Many couples also add parent copies as gifts for both families.
We design the first draft for you, choosing and sequencing images so the album flows as a story rather than a random set of photos. You then review the proof and request changes until it feels right. Nothing is printed until you have approved the final design, so you stay in control of the outcome.
Most of the day is documentary, so we record things as they happen without staging them. The exception is a short set of group shots and a relaxed portrait session, where a little gentle direction helps. Even then we keep it natural, so the portraits still look like you rather than a stiff studio pose.
Our aim is a timeless, natural finish that will still feel right in twenty years, so we avoid trend-led filters and extreme colour grades. Skin tones stay true and whites stay clean. You get a consistent look across the whole gallery rather than images that jump between styles.
Popular dates, especially summer Saturdays, tend to go twelve to eighteen months ahead, so earlier is safer. That said, it is always worth asking about shorter notice, as we sometimes have gaps around Blackburn. Once you are fairly sure of your date, a quick message to check availability costs nothing and saves disappointment later.
