For couple portraits we would rather you walked and talked than posed, perhaps around the Goodwin Fountain in the Peace Gardens beside the Town Hall, and we photograph you once you have stopped thinking about us. Sheffield offers everything from a civil ceremony at the Town Hall on Pinstone Street, in rooms from the 16-guest Loxley Room to the 56-guest Hallam Room, to outdoor vows in the grounds of Whitley Hall, and we would photograph any faith, culture or fusion celebration among them. If you marry at the Town Hall, tell guests that the Register Office itself is reached from Norfolk Street at the back of the building, opposite St Paul's Hotel, while ceremonies use the front entrance. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout South Yorkshire and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Wet weather has a genuine answer in this South Yorkshire city, because the Winter Garden glasshouse beside the Peace Gardens is a large covered space with daylight coming through the roof, and that changes the fallback plan entirely. On a clear day the Botanical Gardens off Ecclesall Road give 19 acres of planting and structure within a single site, which suits a tight portrait window. Venues run from Cutlers' Hall, with the city's steel and cutlery heritage written into the building, to OEC Sheffield and Whitley Hall, and the interior light in each is completely different, so nothing about the approach transfers between them. Sheffield station sits on the Midland Main Line with the M1 skirting the eastern side of the city. Guests based in Dronfield, Hillsborough or Dore reach the centre easily, keeping the group photograph schedule realistic.
