Whittlebury Park is a hotel, spa and golf estate set in 700 acres of Northamptonshire countryside near Towcester, within minutes of the M1 and M40. For weddings it offers four venues, the Orangery, the Pavilion, the 1905 Suite and Brooklands, and two ways to book: classic packages with in-house catering, or dry hire where you bring your own caterers and décor teams (dry hire page). The dry hire page names the venue a two-time Venue of the Year winner at the Asian Wedding Awards and lists ceremonial fire, dhol players and an evening with no sound limiter among the things it allows.

Our studio is at 21 Joel St, Northwood Hills HA6 1NU, photographing weddings since 2001 and rated 4.8 out of 5 from 580+ Google reviews. We are glad to photograph at Whittlebury Park, and coverage starts from £750. Whittlebury is a long drive from Northwood, so travel and any overnight stay are set out in the written quote. Below is what the venue and the council publish, and what they do not.

What a Whittlebury Park wedding costs: packages and dry hire, 2026 to 2028

Whittlebury publishes two pricing routes. The classic packages are priced per item for 2027 and 2028 (wedding packages page):

  • Wedding ceremony in the Orangery: £1,200 (2027), £1,300 (2028).
  • Hire of venue, Monday to Thursday: £1,900 (2027), £2,100 (2028).
  • Hire of venue, Friday to Sunday: £2,250 (2027), £3,000 (2028).
  • Canapés £18.50 and wedding breakfast £55 per person in both years; drinks package £31.50 (2027) and £33.50 (2028) per person.
  • Evening menus per person: bacon rolls £6, fish and chips £15.50, finger buffet £21.50, pig roast £27.

The package includes a glass of Prosecco on arrival or after the ceremony, a three-course wedding breakfast with two glasses of house wine, a glass of Prosecco for the toast, an evening platter, exclusive use of the reception venue and a complimentary hotel room for the couple on the wedding night. The page says minimum numbers may apply on selected dates, and it does not say whether VAT or service is included.

Dry hire starting prices depend on the month (dry hire page):

  • 2026: £6,800 (January to March, November, December), £7,900 (April, May, September, October), £10,300 (June to August).
  • 2027: £7,300, £8,500 and £11,000 for the same seasons.
  • 2028: £7,900, £9,200 and £12,000.

Dry hire includes the venue from 6am to midnight, 6ft round tables for 10 or 12 (up to 32 tables), up to 350 chairs, a getting-ready room, use of the bar with a £1,000 corkage fee, and use of the kitchen for your caterers subject to terms and conditions. Your caterer, décor and drinks are on top.

Registrar fees are separate and paid to West Northamptonshire Council. For a ceremony at an approved venue between 9am and 5pm they run from £634 Monday to Thursday to £769 on a Sunday or bank holiday in 2026/27, and from £659 to £799 in 2027/28, with an extra hourly charge after 5pm (council ceremony fees).

Ceremonies at Whittlebury: the licence, the registrar and cultural weddings

Whittlebury says it is licensed for civil marriages, civil partnerships and baby naming ceremonies, and the brochure calls both the Orangery and the 1905 Suite licensed (brochure). The council's approved venue list carries the licence under different room names: the Orangery, the Atrium Terrace Room, the Atrium 1st Floor and the Paddocks, approved to 31 October 2028 (council list). The 1905 Suite sits within the Atrium according to the venue's spaces page, but neither source ties the two names together, so ask the weddings team which licensed room your ceremony will be in. The packages page prices the ceremony specifically in the Orangery.

The council asks couples to make only a provisional booking with the venue, then book the registrar through its online system before confirming. You must give notice at least a month before the ceremony (eight weeks recommended) and can do so up to 12 months ahead (council guidance).

For Asian weddings the dry hire page says Whittlebury allows your preferred caterers and décor teams, a ceremonial fire, dhol players and an unrestricted evening with no sound limiter, and it suggests the Atrium and Brooklands for up to 350 guests. Whittlebury does not publish whether a baraat can arrive on the drive, whether a horse is allowed, or whether a mandap can be set up outdoors. No outdoor ceremony space is named on the current pages. Ask about each in writing.

Photography rules at Whittlebury Park: what is and is not published

Whittlebury publishes no photography policy for weddings. Its chosen suppliers list on the dry hire page names three photographers, but nothing on the site says couples must use them, and the wedding checklist simply says to enquire on photographers twelve months before (checklist). Confirm the points below with the weddings team.

Photography during the ceremonyNot published; it is the registrar's decision on the day, so ask the West Northamptonshire registrar

Finish timeDry hire runs to midnight; package finish times are not published

Where a rule is shown as not published, ask the venue in writing before the day.

Getting ready: a dry hire room, five suites and 254 bedrooms

Dry hire includes a getting-ready room, though the room is not named (dry hire page). Classic packages include a complimentary hotel room for the couple on the wedding night. The hotel has 254 bedrooms in Classic, Club, Paddocks and Suite categories, and five suites with a lounge and dining area and views of the golf course and countryside (rooms and suites). A suite with a separate lounge gives the most space for hair, make-up and outfit pictures, but which room is used for getting ready is something to agree with Janine and the weddings team. The checklist suggests spa treatments in the week before.

Oaks, a waterfall and a cricket pitch: planning photographs across 700 acres

  • The Orangery is framed by two oak trees at its entrance, with a waterfall and lawns nearby that the venue calls perfect for photographs (brochure). Its sweeping wrought-iron staircase is described as a grand entrance, which suits an arrival or a family group on the steps.
  • Inside, the Orangery has an old stone-flagged floor and a 4.5m ceiling (Orangery page); it seats 120.
  • The Pavilion sits at the far end of the drive beside the cricket pitch, with a white marquee lining all year round, chandeliers, a fireplace, leather sofas, a terraced patio and lawn, and a balcony the brochure calls perfect for capturing photos. Its ceiling is lower, at 2.7m (Pavilion page), which matters for bounced light at the evening reception.
  • The 1905 Suite has large balconies on two sides and a picture window over ancient oak parkland and the golf course, a natural setting for portraits and for the room's daylight.
  • Brooklands is in the main hotel building with its own bar, kitchen and cloakroom. It is the space the venue suggests, with the Atrium, for 350-guest Asian weddings, so plan where large family groups will stand: the brochure does not describe a garden directly outside it.
  • A 2024 testimonial on the weddings page mentions natural light in the Atrium and a courtyard used for the drinks reception.
  • Across 700 acres the venues are spread out; the Pavilion is at the far end of the drive, so allow time to move between rooms and portrait spots.

The M1, the M40 and two postcodes

The address is Whittlebury Park, Whittlebury, near Towcester, Northamptonshire NN12 8QH; the Atrium uses NN12 8WP, so check which postcode suits the venue you have booked and put it on the invitation. The venue says it is within minutes of the M1 and M40 and roughly midway between London and Birmingham (where to find us). It does not publish a nearest railway station, junction numbers or journey times, so guests travelling by train should ask the hotel about taxis. We travel to Whittlebury Park from our Northwood studio; travel and any overnight stay are set out in the written quote.

Parking at Whittlebury Park: 650 spaces

Whittlebury has 650 car park spaces, complimentary for guests, and six 22kW EV chargers in the Atrium car park, payable through the EV Dot app or by card and limited to four hours in 24 (where to find us). The Paddocks rooms have their own car park (rooms and suites). Coach drop-off and overnight parking for non-resident guests are not published, so ask the weddings team.

Whittlebury Park wedding photography, frequently asked questions

How much does a wedding at Whittlebury Park cost?

It depends on the route. On the classic packages, venue hire in 2027 is £1,900 Monday to Thursday and £2,250 Friday to Sunday, rising to £2,100 and £3,000 in 2028, with an Orangery ceremony at £1,200 (£1,300 in 2028). Food and drink are per person: canapés £18.50, wedding breakfast £55 and a drinks package from £31.50. Dry hire, where you bring your own caterers, starts at £6,800 in winter 2026 and reaches £12,000 for summer 2028. Registrar fees are paid separately to West Northamptonshire Council.

How many guests can Whittlebury Park hold for a wedding?

The Orangery seats 120, the Pavilion up to 130, and the 1905 Suite and Brooklands up to 350 each, according to the wedding pages. Dry hire allows up to 350 with a dance floor and up to 32 round tables of 10 or 12. The meetings pages give different figures (Pavilion 180 theatre-style, 1905 Suite 330, Brooklands 500), and the council's licence lists larger numbers again, so confirm the figure for your layout in writing.

Can we have an Asian wedding at Whittlebury Park?

Yes. Whittlebury's dry hire page has a section on Asian weddings, starting from £6,800, and says the venue has twice won Venue of the Year at the Asian Wedding Awards. It allows preferred caterers and décor teams, a ceremonial fire, dhol players and an evening with no sound limiter, and suggests the Atrium and Brooklands for up to 350 guests. Whether a baraat or horse can use the drive is not published, so ask.

Can we bring our own caterer to Whittlebury Park?

On dry hire, yes. You bring your own caterers and drinks and design the day yourself, with use of the kitchen subject to terms and conditions and use of the bar with a £1,000 corkage fee. Venue hire runs from 6am to midnight. On the classic packages the hotel caters, with canapés, a three-course wedding breakfast and an evening menu chosen from four options.

Is Whittlebury Park licensed for civil ceremonies?

Yes. West Northamptonshire Council lists Whittlebury Park as an approved venue to 31 October 2028, naming the Orangery, the Atrium Terrace Room, the Atrium 1st Floor and the Paddocks. The venue's own pages describe the Orangery and the 1905 Suite as licensed. Book the venue provisionally, then book the registrar through the council before you confirm.

What time do weddings at Whittlebury Park finish?

Dry hire includes the venue from 6am to midnight. The classic package pages do not publish a finish time, so ask. The dry hire page and brochure say there is no sound limiter for the evening celebration.

Where do guests park and stay at Whittlebury Park?

There are 650 car park spaces, complimentary for guests, and six EV chargers in the Atrium car park. The hotel has 254 bedrooms, including five suites, and the classic package includes a complimentary room for the couple on the wedding night. Room block rates for wedding guests are not published.

Can we view Whittlebury Park before booking?

Yes. You can book a viewing with the weddings team on 01327 850441 or weddings@whittlebury.com. The next Wedding Showcase is on Wednesday 18 November 2026 from 5pm to 8pm, with the venues dressed and suppliers present; entry is free but you need to book.
