The short answer
Kaushik Bathia is an award winning Asian wedding photographer based in London, photographing Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim and Tamil weddings in Gants Hill and throughout Greater London for over twenty five years and more than a thousand celebrations. We follow your family's customs closely and photograph them exactly as you keep them. We photograph every Asian wedding tradition in Gants Hill, from the Hindu mandap and pheras to the Sikh Anand Karaj, the Muslim nikah and the Tamil muhurtham, across multi day celebrations. We back up every image on the day as we shoot, carry spare equipment to each event, and have never once left a family without their photographs. A second photographer, a female photographer for segregated events and hand finished fine art albums are all available, and we travel across Greater London and the wider UK so distance is never a problem.
Serving Gants Hill
Gants Hill is a north-east London area with a strong South Asian community. Couples come to us from across London and the surrounding area, and Ilford, Newbury Park and Barkingside are firmly on our patch. Around the sacred fire, the seven steps of the saptapadi bind a Hindu couple together, and we photograph each vow from close enough to feel its weight.
We arrive knowing the difference between a Gujarati pithi and a Punjabi maiyan, so nobody has to stop and explain their own traditions to us on the day. For the vidaai we hold back and let the emotion be what it is, photographing the goodbyes gently rather than crowding a moment that belongs to the family. For the jaimala and the joota chupai we stay close to the fun, because these lighter rituals carry as much of the family's character as the solemn ones.
We travel throughout Greater London for temple, gurdwara and mosque ceremonies, and Gants Hill, a north-east London area with a strong South Asian community, is one we know well. We also photograph in nearby Kenton and Sudbury. In and around Gants Hill, we have photographed at venues such as Kanchans and Crown Banqueting Suite.
Gants Hill is a largely residential district of Ilford in the London Borough of Redbridge with a strong South Asian community. Gants Hill tube station on the Central line's Hainault loop, with its ticket hall beneath the Gants Hill roundabout. For portraits away from the celebration, Valentines Park, a large park with formal gardens and a lake between Gants Hill and Ilford works beautifully, and Valentines Mansion, a restored Georgian house set in Valentines Park adds a real sense of place.

What we offer
For large celebrations, a second shooter covers the baraat and the preparations at once.
A sneak preview soon after the wedding, with your full gallery and album to follow.
From the morning preparations to the last dance, every event told as one story.
Every tradition
The vows at a nikah end in the joyful declaration that the couple are married, and the room's relief and delight are ours to keep. The most sacred parts of the day are captured from a respectful distance with a quiet long lens. Whatever your family keeps, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati or Tamil, we follow the ritual closely and respectfully.
When the baraat sets off, the dhol drives the dancing and the groom moves slowly forward amid his family, and we are in the thick of every joyful step. For Muslim families the walima is a warm celebration in its own right, and we cover it in full. From the first event to the last, we tell the full story of the celebration.

The whole celebration
Many Asian weddings begin days before the ceremony with the mehndi, the haldi and a sangeet. There is a particular kind of joy in a haldi, all warmth and yellow and gentle teasing, and we photograph it the way it actually happens, unhurried and honest.
When two ceremonies share a single day, we balance our attention carefully, giving each tradition its full weight rather than treating one as a warm-up for the other. From the morning preparations to the final dance, we give every part of the day the same care.
Why choose us
Families return to us, and recommend us, because we treat every ritual as it deserves. Our experience runs deep across Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Punjabi, Muslim and Tamil weddings.
We cover the whole of the UK for Asian weddings, so wherever your family gathers, distance is never the reason to look elsewhere. We would rather arrive early and wait than keep you waiting, so we allow generous time for the drive to and around Greater London.

Where we travel
When your ceremony and reception sit in different towns across Ilford, Newbury Park and Barkingside, we map the day in advance so no minute of coverage is lost in transit. From our London base, Gants Hill and the rest of Greater London are an easy, familiar journey.

Good to know
Certainly. Engagement and pre-wedding shoots are a lovely, low-pressure way to get used to the camera before your wedding day arrives, and many couples treasure the experience. Choose a location around Gants Hill that holds meaning for you, and we will happily arrange the session.
Certainly. Whether the groom arrives on a horse, in an open car or on foot surrounded by dhol drummers along the streets of Gants Hill, the baraat is among the most spirited moments of all. We keep pace with the procession, recording the dancing and the greeting while holding our footing so no moment is lost.
We are. The importance of the muhurtham timing and the tying of the thali is well understood by us, as are the surrounding customs that give a Tamil ceremony its distinct character. That familiarity means we are poised at the right instant, so the pictures carry the true weight of each ritual.
Yes, and the variety of a fusion day is something we genuinely relish. Whether you are pairing a Hindu ceremony with a civil service, or bringing Sikh and Muslim families together, we honour the customs of each side and map out the timeline carefully so both traditions receive equal care and attention.
Yes, and it is one of the parts of a Gants Hill wedding we most enjoy. We capture the dhol, the dancing and the groom's arrival, along with the milni as the two families meet, with all of its energy.
We would suggest as early as you can manage. Peak and auspicious dates book up well ahead across all traditions, so an early enquiry pays off. Tell us your wedding date and which events you intend to hold, and we will confirm whether we are free without delay.
We photograph the full range: Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Punjabi, Muslim, Tamil and mixed-faith weddings. Whatever tradition your family in Gants Hill keeps, we are familiar with its rituals and the order of events, so nothing catches us off guard on the day.
