The short answer

Where can I book an Eid photoshoot near me?

Eid photoshoots are booked at the studio on The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU, two minutes' walk from Northwood Hills station on the Metropolitan line, or at your home in north west London, where we come to you. Harrow is about 3 miles away by Tube, and Pinner, Ruislip and Watford are a short drive. Eid al-Fitr 2027 is expected around 10 March, depending on the sighting of the moon, and Eid al-Adha follows about ten weeks later. Call or WhatsApp 07956 505383 to talk through the days that suit your family.

Close to home: Eid photoshoots in Northwood, at the studio itself, and Eid photoshoots in Harrow, about 3 miles away.

The session

How an Eid family session runs

An Eid session is a guided family portrait sitting. We begin with the full group while everyone is fresh, then work through smaller pictures: each household, parents with their children, the grandparents with all the grandchildren, and the cousins together.

Posing is directed but unhurried, and it follows your family's preferences on modesty and on who is pictured together. Tell us about those when you book, along with how many are coming, and the session is planned around them.

Outfits

Eid outfits, colour and detail

Eid clothes are chosen with care, often new for the day, and they deserve to be seen properly. Shalwar kameez, abayas, jalabiyas, thobes, kurtas and sherwanis all photograph well, as do embroidered dupattas, hijabs in coordinated tones and the fine detail of the mehndi many families apply the night before Eid.

Coordinate rather than match: two or three colours across the family, such as emerald, ivory and gold or navy and blush, keep a large group looking considered. A spare outfit for the smallest children is always worth packing.

Timing the session around the moon

Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, and its date depends on the sighting of the new moon, so the exact day is often confirmed only the evening before. For 2027 it is expected around 10 March. Eid al-Adha, which falls during the Hajj, is expected about ten weeks after that.

Because of that, many families book a session in the days after Eid, when the celebrations are still going and the outfits are still pressed. If you would like a time close to Eid itself, ask whether one can be held across the likely days.

Greetings

Pictures for Eid Mubarak greetings

If you want a family picture to send with your Eid Mubarak messages or print on a card, it has to be taken before Eid, which usually means during Ramadan. If you are fasting, a morning session tends to feel easier, and we keep it short and relaxed so nobody is worn out.

Tell us when you need the images and the edit is planned to meet that date, whether the picture is going on a printed card or straight onto WhatsApp.

Studio or home

In the studio or at your home

The studio offers even, flattering light and a quiet space away from the visitors, which suits formal portraits and pictures meant for frames. It is on the Joel Street parade in Northwood, with parking close by.

At home, we come to you, so the photographs show the day as it happens: relatives arriving, children with their Eid gifts, the table laid for guests. A home visit is booked in advance and can be timed for after Eid prayers.
