Aashirwad brings the elders forward one by one to touch your heads with rice, and we photograph each blessing rather than a sample, because those faces are the reason the album exists. As the sindoor is applied and the mangalsutra tied, we photograph the closeness of the moment, the expressions and the hands, treating it with the reverence it holds for your families. The bride's arrival under a phoolon ki chadar, the canopy of flowers carried by her brothers, moves steadily down the aisle, and we walk backwards ahead of it to keep her face lit.
Before the wedding we often do an engagement or pre-wedding shoot, giving us time to get to know you and giving you relaxed, natural pictures ahead of the big days. Reception receiving lines can run to hundreds of guests filing past the stage, and we photograph every group, because for many relatives that is the only picture of them from your wedding. Cake cutting and the first dance sit close together at most receptions, so we plan the light for both at once rather than adjusting between them in front of a waiting room.
