The short answer

Where can I have a maternity photoshoot in Northwood?

In Northwood itself, at the studio on The Broadway, 21 Joel St, HA6 1NU, beside Northwood Hills station. For an expectant mother living locally that matters: a short trip, a seat whenever you need one, and no long car journey late in pregnancy. Most clients book for somewhere between 28 and 34 weeks. If you would rather be outdoors, the woodland and gardens around Northwood can be used in spring and autumn. Call or WhatsApp 07956 505383 with your due date and we will suggest the right week.

We had a baby and family photo shoot with Kaushik over the weekend. He was extremely professional and very good with our baby! He has all the tricks and toys to make our little one smile and laugh during the shoot (which kept us entertained too!) would highly recommend Kaushik for baby photo shoots! Many thanks for capturing such beautiful photos for us!

Great service! Kaushik was able to capture some beautiful shots for my maternity baby and bump shoot. He was very helpful and guided me with the poses throughout the shoot. I love the pictures & I’m looking forward to having the final edits!

I would highly recommend Northwood Hills Studio. We have been been capturing our favourite family portraits since 2004. Always great fun, yet very professional. The printed results are great and we will keep coming back.

In the studio

A calm sitting a few minutes from home

Coming from elsewhere in Northwood, you can arrive unhurried, change into your first outfit and start when you feel ready. The room is kept warm, there is somewhere to sit between set-ups, and every pose is shown to you rather than described, so there is no guesswork.

Studio light lets us shape the bump with soft shadow, which is why many of the classic maternity portraits are made indoors. Black and white versions are part of the set as well.

Outdoors nearby

Woodland and garden settings around Northwood

Ruislip Woods, the largest block of ancient semi-natural woodland in Greater London, starts just beyond Northwood and gives dappled shade under oak and hornbeam. Closer to the studio, the walled garden and old orchard at Eastcote House Gardens offer flowering borders and fruit trees.

Hillingdon Council asks for permission through its Film Office before professional photos are taken in its parks and green spaces, so an outdoor session needs a little more notice. We will talk through the season and the light before you choose.

After the birth

From bump to newborn, without leaving Northwood

Many local parents book a newborn session to follow the maternity portraits. Newborn sittings can take place at home in Northwood or in the studio, whichever is easier in those first weeks, and the two can be planned together as one package.

Northwood

Getting to the studio around Northwood

From Northwood Hills you can walk; the studio is in the middle of the Joel Street parade. From central Northwood, Northwood station is one stop north of Northwood Hills on the Metropolitan line, and the 282, 331 and H11 buses link the two. Parking is close by if you would rather drive, which many clients do in the last weeks.

For outdoor portraits we can meet you at a spot that suits the season: the shade of Ruislip Woods, the walled garden at Eastcote House Gardens, or the tree-lined roads of the Northwood-Frithwood Conservation Area with their Arts and Crafts houses.
