The short answer

Where can I get OCI photos in Northwood?

At our studio at The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU, beside Northwood Hills station. Walk in without an appointment and tell us it is for an OCI card: the photo is square, 2 by 2 inches, with its own head-size and background rules, so we take it to that format rather than cropping a UK passport photo. You leave with printed copies and a digital file in the size and resolution the online form accepts, so the upload is ready when you are.

I came to this photography shop today to have passport photos taken for my daughter and me, and honestly, we had such a lovely experience. Kaushik was incredibly kind and patient, especially with my daughter, and did a wonderful job capturing her photos.

The online part

Getting the digital file right for the portal

OCI and Indian visa applications are made online, and the upload has to meet its own limits on dimensions and file size as well as looking right. We save the file to that specification, so you are not resizing a phone picture late at night before a deadline.

If the portal has already turned a photo down, bring the message or a screenshot. It usually names the fault, such as a shadow, the head too small in the square or an off-white background, and we correct exactly that.

Other countries

When the trip is not to India

The same counter handles United States visas and Green Cards, Schengen applications at 35 by 45mm, and Chinese, Australian and Canadian visas, each to its own size and background shade. Tell us the country and the document type when you come in.

A family travelling together can have every member photographed in one visit, and we photograph babies for visas just as patiently as for passports.

Finding the counter

Reaching us from Northwood

We are on the Joel Street shopping parade right next to Northwood Hills station, so from most of Northwood Hills you can walk. From the Green Lane side of Northwood, it is one stop south from Northwood station on the Metropolitan line, and routes 282, 331 and H11 serve both Northwood and Northwood Hills.

There is parking close by. If several of the family need photos, coming together saves trips, but there is no harm in calling in one at a time as people are free.
