Kaushik begins by letting your pet explore and relax, then photographs in short bursts, using treats, toys and noises to catch bright, attentive expressions. Energetic dogs get action frames across open ground once the calmer portraits are done.
You then pick favourites from an online gallery, taking as long as you like. Retouching is light, removing a stray lead clip or muddy smear while keeping markings and grey hairs as they are. Pet pictures come ready for web and print, and albums, frames, prints and canvases can be ordered.

I went into the photoshoot with reservations, as I wasn’t sure how well my youngest child (3 years) would be in a photoshoot situation. As soon as walking into the shoot and seeing how Kaushik interacted with the little ones, I was immediately put at ease. He amazingly kept my child smiling and laughing for an hour, where I can’t seem to manage to do for 30 seconds!
Me and my family had a photo shoot here and I must say Kaushik did a fantastic job. We went to review the photos and they were really good. We will treasure these memories forever.
Kaushik is a fantastic photographer and has captured some superb family memories for us! Great service with high quality, professional images.
What we offer
Open-field pet sessions in Totteridge Fields along the Dollis Brook valley.
Shorter outdoor sessions at Swan Lane Open Space or Brook Farm, near the High Road.
Why choose us
Owners can join their pets in the frame, showing the easy affection between you without stiff posing. With animals, quick reflexes count, so we are ready for the sudden yawn, the head tilt or the ears pricked up at just the right moment.
Nothing is rushed: before the camera comes out, your animal has time to explore and settle. Family portraits including the pet are a lovely option, putting everyone, two legs and four, in the frame.

Recent work
Most animals relax sooner when there is space to wander. Details for each spot come from the source linked beside it, and it is worth confirming any dog rules before you head over. Travel from Northwood is set out in your written quote before you book.

Good to know
Yes, both. Bring the treats your pet will genuinely work for, cut small so they can be given often, and a toy that squeaks or crinkles to catch attention for a split second. A familiar blanket helps nervous animals settle. Water and a towel are useful too, especially on damp ground in Totteridge Fields.
The session starts slowly, giving your pet time to sniff the equipment and accept a stranger before any serious photographing begins. Kaushik avoids looming over animals, works at their eye level and keeps sessions in short spells with plenty of rest. A calm owner helps too, so take your time and leave hurry at home.
That is completely fine. Restless dogs make wonderful action pictures, bounding through long grass or trotting along a path. For the still portraits, patience does the work: a treat above the lens or a sudden squeak gives a moment of focus, and the camera is ready for it. A good run beforehand helps settle them.
Not at all. Energy gives pictures life, and open spaces such as Totteridge Fields suit dogs that need to move. The session starts with running and play to use up the first burst, then moves to calmer frames once your dog is ready to listen. Bring a long lead if recall is unreliable, and plenty of rewards.
Brush the coat, clean around the eyes and pack a tidy collar or harness. Walk or play beforehand so your pet arrives a little tired, and skip a big meal so treats still work. If your animal dislikes car journeys, allow time to settle on arrival, whether at a Whetstone park.

Whetstone is well placed for outdoor pet sessions. Totteridge Fields, a nature reserve of hedged fields along the Dollis Brook valley, offers long grass and wide views where a dog can be photographed on the move, though any rules on the reserve apply and are worth checking first. Swan Lane Open Space and Brook Farm, both with water features and wildlife interest, are closer to the High Road for a shorter outing. For dogs, an early start brings quieter paths and lower, kinder light, and a good walk beforehand makes the posed frames easier. Watch the ground after rain: muddy paws photograph well in action shots but less so on a pale coat in a portrait, so a towel is useful. Bring favourite treats, a noisy toy, water and a tidy lead. Owners can be photographed with their pets or stay out of shot, and the session moves at whatever speed the animal is comfortable with.
