The short answer
Kaushik Bathia is an award winning wedding photographer based in London, photographing weddings in Billericay and throughout Essex for over twenty five years and more than a thousand celebrations. Our approach leans on being calm and unobtrusive, blending into the day so guests forget we are there and simply carry on enjoying themselves. Whatever your wedding looks like in Billericay, a church service, a register office, a country house, a barn or a hotel, and whatever your traditions, we photograph the whole day as it happens. With more than 1000 weddings behind us over twenty-five years, very little takes us by surprise, and that experience keeps us steady when a day runs long. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Essex and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Serving Billericay
Billericay is an Essex town with country-house venues. Plenty of our couples pick a country estate or a garden venue; others prefer a hotel or a village church. We follow every choice across Brentwood, Wickford and Basildon and the rest of Essex. In Billericay and beyond, we have photographed ceremonies of every kind, and that experience means we anticipate each moment rather than chase it.
We stay observant and patient, waiting for expressions to arrive naturally rather than asking for them, which keeps the whole set feeling warm and unposed. We work quietly in the background, following the day as it unfolds rather than staging it, so your photographs feel real and never posed for the sake of it. We move calmly through the day, anticipating where the next moment will land, so we are already in place when it happens instead of chasing it.
Billericay is somewhere we are glad to work, and the journey from London is simple. Billericay is an Essex town with country-house venues, and we cover couples here as well as in nearby Epping and Chigwell. Close to Billericay, we have worked at venues including Downham Hall, Stock Brook Manor and Hutton Hall.
Billericay is a commuter town in the Basildon district with a historic High Street and a strong sense of local identity. Billericay station sits on the Greater Anglia Shenfield to Southend line, around 30 minutes from London Liverpool Street. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Lake Meadows, a 40 acre park with a fishing lake, with Norsey Wood, an ancient coppiced woodland and Site of Special Scientific Interest close by for a striking backdrop.

What we offer
We have photographed many kinds of ceremony over the years and take the time to learn the moments that matter to you.
As the light drops and the music starts, we keep going, following the party through to the last dance.
Chosen frames can become prints for the wall, sized and finished so a favourite moment stays in view.
Every kind of wedding
We are comfortable in Billericay venues of every kind, and we plan quietly with your officiant or celebrant beforehand so nothing about the service surprises us. Vows are the heart of the day, and we photograph them without fuss, moving carefully and keeping our distance so the moment stays entirely yours. A registry office wedding can be just as moving as any cathedral, and we bring the same attention to the small, tender details wherever your vows take place.
We give the reception room its due before your guests arrive, photographing the flowers, the place settings and the details you spent months choosing. We photograph the arrivals, the confetti and the drinks that follow, giving the reception the same care we bring to the ceremony itself. The first dance is yours alone for a moment, and we photograph it from the edges, letting the room and its faces frame you naturally.

The whole celebration
We often start with the morning preparations, when the room is calm and the day still feels private, and photograph the small details before the pace picks up. We build the timeline around the light as well as the schedule, so portraits and early moments fall when the day looks its most flattering.
Balance is everything, and we make sure the tender pauses get as much space in your gallery as the toasts, the tears and the dancing. We take care that the calm and the joyful sit side by side in your gallery, so the finished story holds the full range of how the day felt.
Why choose us
Long experience means we handle groups and speeches smoothly, keeping things moving so the schedule holds and your guests stay relaxed. We travel throughout the country for weddings and have grown used to new venues quickly, arriving prepared and settling into a room without fuss.
The driving is ours to worry about, not yours, and we think nothing of a longer run to reach a venue in Essex. Longer journeys and rural venues suit us well; we have photographed weddings in every corner of Essex and are glad to travel.

Where we travel
When a day is spread out or the drive is a long one, a second photographer can travel with us so coverage across Essex stays unbroken. You focus on the day and we handle the travel, arriving early at your Essex venue and staying as long as the plan requires.

Good to know
Popular dates, especially in summer and around bank holidays, can be taken a year or more ahead, so earlier is always safer. That said, if your Billericay wedding is sooner, do still ask, as we sometimes have dates free at shorter notice. A quick call is the fastest way to find out.
For most weddings we arrive early on the day itself, which gives us time to check the light and find the strongest backdrops. If your venue is unusual or you would like a pre-visit, we are happy to arrange one where practical. Knowing the space in advance means we spend the day on you, not on logistics.
We do. Your favourite images can be hand-finished into a fine-art album, designed with you page by page so it tells the story of the day in order. Printed on quality materials, it is built to be handled and passed down. Many couples also add parent copies as gifts for both families.
We think it does. After more than twenty-five years and over a thousand weddings, we read a room quickly, sense moments before they happen, and stay calm when the timings wander. That quiet experience means you can relax and be present, knowing the day is in safe and steady hands.
Yes. Every package includes your edited photographs in full resolution with no watermarks, delivered through a private online gallery you can download from and share. You are free to print them yourselves at any size, though we are also happy to produce albums, framed prints and wall art finished to a professional standard.
We focus on ground-based photography and do not fly drones ourselves, since aerial work needs separate licensing and insurance. If your venue allows it and you want aerial coverage, we can suggest a qualified operator to work alongside us. Our attention stays on the people and moments throughout the day.
It depends on your plans, though most couples choose coverage from the morning preparations through to the first dance, which is around eight to ten hours. If you would like us there for only part of the day, that is absolutely fine too. Tell us your timings and we will suggest what fits your Billericay celebration.
