Sedgebrook Hall, Whittlebury Park and Rushton Hall all sit out of town, so the transfer after the ceremony becomes a genuine part of the schedule rather than a footnote. Northampton railway station stands on the site of the former castle on the West Coast Main Line loop, and the M1 serves the town at junctions 15, 15a and 16, which matters when a baraat is running late from Duston, Weston Favell or Hardingstone.
