None of that appears on a running order, so we shoot it opportunistically and keep something in reserve for it. A weekend covered only at its peaks reads, afterwards, like somebody else's highlights. - Pynes House, an exclusive-use country house wedding venue at Upton Pyne near Exeter, holds ceremonies in its front courtyard or indoors in the Ballroom or State Rooms, seats up to 96 in the Ballroom for the wedding breakfast, hosts up to 130 in the evening and has twelve bedrooms. 1
- Exeter Cathedral, the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter, was largely complete by about 1400 and has the longest uninterrupted medieval stone vaulted ceiling in the world, as well as an astronomical clock and an early set of misericords. 2
- Northernhay Gardens, on the north side of Rougemont Castle, were laid out in 1612 as a pleasure walk and are the oldest public open space in England; they are Grade II registered, maintained by Exeter City Council and include stretches of Roman and Saxon city wall. 3
- Devon Register Office, County Hall. Devon's register office is at the Coaver Club in the County Hall grounds on Topsham Road, Exeter (EX2 4QX), and ceremonies take place in the Bellair building and on its patio, with the large ceremony room taking up to 60 guests including the two witnesses. 4
