Asian weddings in Cardiff are rarely one day and rarely one building. Three or four events across a week, each in a different sort of room, and every room metered differently. A house in the evening. A hall with a low ceiling. A hotel function suite. A civic interior in stone. Nothing carries over between them except us, and the continuity people notice afterwards comes from holding one colour treatment across the lot, not from any single event being covered well.

The hours between events are where the real pictures are. Nobody is looking, the corridor supplies whatever light it supplies, and grandparents sit down. We plan for those gaps rather than treating them as travel time, so we ask well ahead where everybody actually waits and what the light does there. Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff Castle and Mercure Cardiff Holland House are different sorts of room; ask each about the hour before doors, not only about the event.

Every tradition loads its weight somewhere different, and finding that place is the opening job. In one family the whole day turns on a canopy and the fire beneath it. In another the authority sits in a book, and the room arranges itself around that. Elsewhere a few spoken words and a signature settle it inside minutes. Ask us to guess and we will guess wrong, so we do not guess: we sit down with you and the officiant beforehand and establish what must not be missed.

The same conversation also rules things out. Some ceremonies want a camera close in; others want it at the back and quiet. A garba wants a flash on a stand and a dragged shutter so the skirts keep their movement. A rukhsati wants nobody standing within ten feet of it. Technique follows the tradition, and the tradition is yours to declare rather than ours to assume.

Yes. An astrologer sets the muhurtham, often early and rarely negotiable, so the entire schedule bends around it. We would be there before it, metered and ready, and the thali gets a fixed position held from the start.

Do you cover smaller Asian celebrations, not just large weddings?+

An engagement at home, or a sixty-person dinner, is not a shrunken wedding but a different job with less noise in it. Yes, we cover those. Shorter hours, one photographer, and the same files delivered the same way.

What happens after the wedding?+

Culling first, then a full edit, then a preview set you can share. The album comes after that: we lay it out, you revise it. Files sit in two separate backups, so a request years later is still answerable.

We are a mixed-faith couple. Will you respect both families' traditions?+

Yes, and the useful step is a conversation with both sets of parents rather than only with you. We want to hear what each side would be upset to lose, then build one running order carrying both.

Do you cover Muslim nikah and walima ceremonies?+

Yes. What those days need is agreement in advance on who covers each side of the room, and on whether one of us must be female. Settle that at booking and nothing needs improvising in a doorway.
