Serving Cardiff

An Asian wedding photographer for Cardiff

Cardiff is the Welsh capital, with a diverse community and grand venues. We are as at ease in a small community temple as in a five-hundred-cover banqueting suite, throughout Cathays, Grangetown and Riverside and the rest of South Wales. The garland exchange, when bride and groom raise the jaimala over one another, releases the first great cheer of the day, and we catch it as it breaks.

The food, the decor and the small details matter to us, so between the big set pieces we quietly gather the textures that make your day yours. When the baraat arrives with drums and dancing we are in the thick of it, moving with the crowd so the welcome looks and feels exactly as loud as it was. For the jaimala and the joota chupai we stay close to the fun, because these lighter rituals carry as much of the family's character as the solemn ones.

We travel across South Wales for weddings of every tradition, and Cardiff is the Welsh capital, with a diverse community and grand venues, which makes it a straightforward and welcome destination. We also cover nearby Newport and Swansea. We are at home at Cardiff-area venues such as Cardiff Castle, Mercure Cardiff Holland House and Cardiff City Stadium.

Cardiff is the capital of Wales, a diverse city with grand civic buildings around Cathays Park and a medieval castle at its centre. Cardiff Central is the city's main railway station, a short walk from the castle and the shopping streets. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Bute Park, around 130 acres of landscaped parkland behind Cardiff Castle, and Roath Park with its lake, and Cardiff Castle, a medieval castle and Victorian Gothic revival mansion in the city centre gives the day a strong sense of Cardiff.

What we offer

What is included in your Cardiff Asian wedding coverage

01

Anand Karaj

We cover the Sikh ceremony with the respect it asks for, capturing the palki, the hymns and the moment you are joined.

02

Grand Entrances

Whether by baraat, doli or a lit-up reception walk, we make sure your entrance is caught in full and never half-framed.

03

Tamil Weddings

The muhurtham and the tying of the thali, captured with care and respect.

Every tradition

Every tradition, beautifully told

We are ready for the giving of the sindoor and the tying of the mangalsutra at a Hindu ceremony. For Tamil and South Indian families, the muhurtham reaches its heart as the thali is tied, and we are in position for that single, defining second. The muhurat and muhurtham, the auspicious hours, set the pace of the ceremony, and we plan around them.

The mehndi night, the sangeet and the haldi each carry their own mood, and we photograph them all. The dhol player sets the pulse of the baraat, and we work close to the drum and the dancers so the picture carries the sound within it. Each pre-wedding event carries its own mood, the intimacy of the mehndi, the play of the haldi, the exuberance of the sangeet, and we photograph all three in their own key.

The whole celebration

One Story Across Every Event of Your Wedding

Tell us which events matter most and we will build the coverage around them. A celebration often opens with an intimate mehndi at home and a lively sangeet full of music and dance.

We deliver a full day evenly, from the first ritual to the last song, so your album carries the real shape of the celebration rather than only its brightest half-hour. We move with the day rather than against it, following the ceremony into the meal and the meal into the dancing without ever pulling you out of the moment.

Why choose us

Experience that shows in Cardiff

Experience is not only knowing the rituals; it is knowing when a grandmother will cry and where the light will fall, and being ready for both. We back up every image on the day as we shoot, carry spare equipment to each event, and have never once left a family without their photographs.

We cover Wales and beyond, and are glad to travel further afield on request. We photograph across South Wales regularly, and travelling to Cardiff is second nature.

Good to know

Wedding photography in Cardiff, frequently asked questions

Yes. We photograph the nikah and walima with care for the customs of the day, working discreetly during the signing of the contract and the exchange of vows. Where the celebration is segregated, we can arrange a female photographer so guests feel entirely comfortable throughout.

Of course. Many Asian families set the wedding date by an auspicious muhurat, and popular dates book up early. Once you are ready, we secure your Cardiff date with a booking, and we recommend enquiring well ahead so your chosen photographer is free when the time comes.

Very much so. Whatever the tradition, we photograph the vows and the sacred rituals from a respectful distance using quiet, long-lens work, so the ceremony is never disturbed. Our documentary style keeps the day feeling like yours, and we remain a calm, unobtrusive presence throughout.

Asian receptions often carry on well into the evening, and we plan our coverage to see the day through to the moments that matter to you. We agree the finishing point in advance, and if the celebration overruns we will always discuss options rather than simply pack away.

We are. The Anand Karaj and the four laavan in the gurdwara are photographed with the calm the Guru Granth Sahib deserves, and we are just as familiar with the milni and the reception that surround the ceremony.

We design fine-art albums built to last, with thick pages and archival printing that suits the richness of an Asian wedding. We lay out the story across the days and share a proof with you before anything is printed, so every spread reflects your family and your celebration.

Yes. Not every celebration is a five-hundred-guest affair, and we are just as happy photographing an intimate nikah, a family engagement or a registry ceremony followed by a small gathering. The same documentary care applies, whatever the scale of your day.
