We follow the flame of the agni through every phera, adjusting quietly to the smoke and shifting light so the sacred fire stays glowing at the heart of your ceremony pictures. Once the ceremony ends and you both stand, the mandap empties within a minute, so we take our formal frame of you under it immediately rather than losing the setting altogether. We hold close for the mangalsutra and the sindoor, photographing the hands, the thread and the quiet intensity of the moment your marriage is marked before your families.
Mameru, when the bride's maternal uncle arrives with gifts and sarees, is one of the warmest of the Gujarati pre-wedding events, and we cover the presenting as well as the reactions. Haldi mornings are bright and joyful, and we photograph the turmeric being smeared, the laughter between cousins and the mess of it all as your family gathers to bless you. Mehndi artists work for hours, and rather than hover we return through the evening, so the patterns are photographed as they grow from an outline into a finished pair of hands.

Getting ready rooms are usually cramped and cluttered, and we work around that rather than restaging it, though we will quietly move a coat hanger out of the corner of a frame. Turban tying takes several attempts and several relatives, and the negotiation over it is funnier than the result, so we cover the whole process rather than the finished photograph alone.
First dances are short, so we cover them from two positions, one close on your faces and one wide enough to hold the ring of family around the floor before the song ends. From the energy of the arrival to the emotion of the vidaai, we pace the day carefully so both ends of it are given their due.
