A nikah turns on the giving of consent, the mehr and the signing of the contract, and we record each with the dignity the occasion carries. We know the order of the rituals in each tradition, so we are always in position. A ceremony is a sequence of small sacred acts, not one photograph, and we tell it as the story it is, from the first ritual to the last.

Away from the couple, cousins reunite, aunts organise and children weave through the crowd, and we watch the family moments that fill the edges of the day. The dhol and dancing of the baraat are pure joy, and we capture every bit of the energy. The bride's farewell, as she leaves her parents' home, is the most tender passage of many Asian weddings, and we photograph it with the gentleness it deserves.
