Botleys Mansion is a Palladian house in 56 acres of parkland at Lyne, near Chertsey, run as an exclusive-use wedding venue by Harper Wedding Venues. From 11am the house and grounds are yours for 24 hours, with no other weddings. Ceremonies can be held in the Green Room, in the Atrium, a glass-roofed orangery with a grand staircase, or outside on the Mansion Lawn from April to September, and there are twelve bedrooms. Harper says the Atrium can hold a mandap for Hindu and Jain ceremonies, and offers dry hire on selected dates so you can bring your own caterers.

Our studio is at 21 Joel St, Northwood Hills HA6 1NU, photographing weddings since 2001 and rated 4.8 out of 5 from 580+ Google reviews. We are glad to photograph at Botleys Mansion, and coverage starts from £750. Below is what the venue publishes, and what it does not.

What a Botleys Mansion wedding costs in 2026 and 2027

Harper keeps its full price list in a Botleys Mansion brochure released through a form, but it publishes its current offers on the pricing page (pricing and offers):

  • 2027 winter package (January, February and March): £20,000 Monday to Thursday, £25,000 Friday to Sunday. This covers exclusive use of the house and grounds for 24 hours, a food and drinks package for 80 adult day guests, overnight accommodation (minimums apply), a fairy light canopy and a DJ. Additional guests are £168 each. Bank holidays are excluded.
  • 2026 dates: 50% off exclusive venue hire on the remaining 2026 dates, with food, drink and accommodation priced separately; New Year's Eve is excluded.
  • April and May 2027: new bookings get a free upgrade to Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée for the toast and late-night food for 70 evening guests.
  • Dry hire: reduced dry hire rates are offered until March 2027; the rate itself is in a separate dry hire brochure.

All Harper venues have a minimum guest number, which varies by season and day of the week, though not for dry hire (FAQs). The package menu includes two "silver" options per course, one principal and one vegetarian or vegan, with gold and platinum dishes, a third main or an extra course charged on top. Payments are split into monthly instalments ending one month before the wedding, with a final balance ten days before that includes accommodation and a security deposit, returned within 21 days if there is no major damage. The bar is card only.

The Green Room, the Atrium or the lawn, and South Asian weddings

Harper says all its venues are licensed for civil ceremonies inside and outside (FAQs). At Botleys the choice is three settings (ceremonies and receptions):

  • The Green Room on the piano nobile, the raised ground floor, for up to 131, with a centrepiece chandelier, carved ceilings and soft pastel colours.
  • The Atrium, a glass-roofed orangery with a central staircase to walk down, for up to 360 seated.
  • The Mansion Lawn, licensed for ceremonies with a gazebo, from April to September at an additional charge.

The registrars come from Surrey County Council, which the venue lists at registration.ceremonies@surreycc.gov.uk (guest services). Capacity is the figure to confirm in writing: the Botleys pages say 50 to 360 for the ceremony and wedding breakfast and 500 for the evening, while Harper's FAQ says up to 288 seated and 500 standing.

Harper publishes specific guidance on South Asian weddings (dry hire page). It says the Atrium comfortably holds a mandap for Hindu and Jain ceremonies, and names a Nikkah and Walima, a Mehndi evening and the Anand Karaj celebrations that follow a Gurdwara ceremony as events the house can host across a wedding week. Dry hire on selected dates lets you bring your own kitchen team and servers, with exclusive use until midnight or for 24 hours if you stay. One of the venue's real weddings blended an English civil ceremony with Punjabi traditions over two days (Botleys Mansion). Harper does not publish rules on a baraat with a horse or dhol on the drive, or on havan fire, so ask the planning team about both.

Petal confetti, real candles, drones with paperwork: Botleys' rules

Harper does not publish a photography policy, and it welcomes external suppliers alongside its own recommended partners (FAQs). The Getting Ready Room is described as having lighting a make-up artist will like and "a backdrop your photographer will too" (Botleys Mansion).

The Getting Ready Room from 9am

Botleys publishes its getting-ready arrangements clearly (Botleys Mansion). The Getting Ready Room is yours from 9am, two hours before the rest of the house, and is included in the hire. It has natural light, four make-up stations and a complimentary bottle of something sparkling. The couple also have the Botleys Suite, with a four-poster bed, and eleven further bedrooms keep family close. If you want the house the night before, Harper offers exclusive hire from 6pm the previous evening with all rooms and a light continental breakfast, confirmed four months before the wedding (FAQs).

Planning photographs in the Atrium, the Green Room and 56 acres

  • The Atrium's glass roof floods it with light by day, and the central staircase gives the entrance down into the ceremony or the reception (ceremonies and receptions). Under glass, midday sun can be strong, so plan where the couple stand.
  • The Green Room has a centrepiece chandelier and carved ceilings, and the venue says its pastel colours look soft in summer afternoon light.
  • The fountain is where the drinks reception gathers and where the sparkler send-off happens, which makes it the evening's main outdoor picture.
  • Inside, the Entrance Hall with its piano, the Morning Room and the Library with velvet sofas give quieter interiors for winter portraits (Botleys Mansion).
  • Fifty-six acres of parkland and lawns surround the pale stone house, so a couple portrait walk needs time in the plan.
  • Real candles are allowed in holders, which helps the evening table pictures.
  • The venue's published finish of 11.30pm, or 2am with an extension, decides how late evening coverage needs to run.

The M25, Ottershaw and the 2026 A320 roadworks

From London and the M25, leave at junction 11, follow the A317 towards Woking, continue on the A320 through Ottershaw, turn onto Fox Hills Road and then right onto Stonehill Road (guest services). Harper says Weybridge is within a 10-minute drive and Chobham about five minutes. It also warns of Surrey County Council roadworks on the A320 north of Woking from 14 April 2026, in phases over six months, with Holloway Hill in Ottershaw closed to through traffic and temporary lights on the A320 Guildford Road. Guests from Guildford are advised to use the A3 and M25. No nearest railway station is published; the venue lists local taxi firms and nearby hotels including Foxhills, Premier Inn Addlestone and the Crown Hotel in Chertsey. We travel to Botleys Mansion from our Northwood Hills studio; any travel cost is set out in your written quote.

Parking at Botleys Mansion

Harper does not publish a space count, but its FAQ covers parking at the house: it prefers cars not to be left overnight, and any non-resident car left at the venue must be collected by 10am the next morning, at the owner's risk (FAQs). Ask the planning team about coach access if you are bringing guests in by minibus or coach.

Botleys Mansion wedding photography, frequently asked questions

How much does a wedding at Botleys Mansion cost?

Harper's full prices are in a brochure released through a form, but it publishes offers. The 2027 winter package for January to March is £20,000 Monday to Thursday and £25,000 Friday to Sunday, covering 24 hours' exclusive use, food and drink for 80 adult day guests, overnight accommodation, a fairy light canopy and a DJ, with extra guests at £168 each. Remaining 2026 dates have 50% off exclusive venue hire, with food, drink and rooms priced separately.

How many guests can Botleys Mansion hold?

The Botleys pages say 50 to 360 for the ceremony and wedding breakfast and 500 for an evening reception in the Atrium, with the Green Room taking up to 131. Harper's FAQ gives a lower figure of 288 for the ceremony and sit-down meal, with 500 standing in the evening. Confirm the figure for your layout in writing.

Can we have an Asian wedding at Botleys Mansion?

Harper says Botleys is built for the scale of a South Asian wedding. The Atrium comfortably holds a mandap for Hindu and Jain ceremonies, and it names a Nikkah and Walima, a Mehndi evening and Anand Karaj celebrations after a Gurdwara ceremony as events it hosts. Dry hire on selected dates lets you bring your own caterers. Ask about a baraat and any fire ceremony, which are not covered.

Can you bring your own caterer to Botleys Mansion?

Only on a dry hire booking. Package weddings use Harper's in-house chefs for all food and drink. On selected dates Botleys is available for dry hire, with exclusive use until midnight, or for 24 hours if you stay, and your own kitchen team and servers. Reduced dry hire rates are offered until March 2027, and there are no minimum guest numbers for dry hire.

What time do weddings finish at Botleys Mansion?

The standard finish is 11.30pm, extendable to 2am at a charge. Fireworks are not allowed, but Harper suggests a sparkler send-off by the fountain at the end of the evening. Guests staying in the twelve bedrooms have breakfast in the Dining Room the next morning.

Is confetti allowed at Botleys Mansion?

Yes. Harper asks for real petals, dried or fresh, light in colour and biodegradable, to avoid staining the floors. Confetti cannons and streamers can only be used inside. Real candles are allowed in a holder, lantern or vase.

Is Botleys Mansion wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Guests reach the Atrium by a ramp, and a lift goes to all floors. Dogs are welcome throughout the day, evening and overnight.
