What a Syon Park wedding costs in 2027

Syon publishes its 2027 private hire fees for exclusive use of Syon House and the Great Conservatory, including VAT (2027 fees PDF):

  • Low season (April, May, October): Wednesday or Thursday £16,000, Friday £18,000, Saturday £26,000.
  • High season (June to September): Wednesday or Thursday £18,000, Friday £20,000, Saturday £29,000.
  • Great Conservatory evening hire from 5pm: from £9,000.
  • Hotspur Wing: from £4,000 for one night.

Catering comes from the approved caterers on top of hire. On curfew the sources disagree: the wedding FAQ says no extensions are offered, while the 2027 fees PDF lists an optional extension to 1.00am at £3,000. Ask which applies to your date before you plan the last hour.

Capacity is the other figure to confirm in writing. A State Dining Room ceremony is limited to 50 guests. The Great Conservatory seats 160 for a reception and takes 120 for an evening ceremony; the FAQ puts the total with evening guests at 200.

Ceremonies at Syon: the Great Hall, the State Dining Room or the Conservatory

Three spaces are licensed for civil ceremonies: the Great Hall, the State Dining Room and the Great Conservatory, which hosts evening ceremonies only (wedding FAQ). Ceremonies at Syon House run at 3.30pm or 4pm, and the venue suggests 6pm or 6.30pm in the Conservatory, subject to registrar availability. Civil ceremonies are booked through Hounslow registrars up to a year ahead.

Exclusive use covers the principal floor of Syon House and the Great Conservatory for the contracted times. Couples are tied to approved caterers, décor and production companies, but may bring their own photographer, videographer, DJ and band. The brochure names the Conservatory as a setting for wedding receptions, engagement parties and "mehndi celebrations".

Syon does not publish whether Hindu, Sikh or Muslim religious ceremonies (a mandap, a havan or a nikah) can be held, whether a baraat with dhol or a horse is allowed on the estate, or which halal, vegetarian or Jain menus its caterers offer. Ask the weddings team in writing about each one, and confirm which Great Hall capacity the licence carries.

No confetti, no drones without permission: Syon's photography rules

Syon's own photography policy matters on the day: the estate is private, and only couples marrying at Syon House or the Great Conservatory may have engagement, pre-wedding and wedding photographs taken there (photography policy).

The Green Drawing Room and the Lovaine Room

Syon's sample day names the rooms. A bride marrying in the Great Hall prepares in the Green Drawing Room; for a Great Conservatory ceremony she prepares in the Lovaine Room. The register is then signed in the State Dining Room, with drinks and photographs in the Inner Courtyard (weddings page). Preparation rooms for a groom's party are not published, so ask.

Planning photographs at Syon House and the Great Conservatory

  • The brochure calls the Long Gallery "an elegant backdrop for photographs of you as a couple", so it suits portraits whatever the weather.
  • The Italian-style Inner Courtyard is where drinks and group photographs happen; it is also the one place dried lavender is allowed, which makes it the exit shot.
  • The formal white parterre garden is the outdoor portrait setting the brochure names.
  • The Great Conservatory has no heating or air conditioning, and heating is recommended for April, May and October weddings: plan for the light and the temperature inside the glass.
  • Real candles are allowed in the Conservatory but not in the house, so candlelit table details belong there.
  • Syon House has no wheelchair or scooter access and eight stone steps up to the Great Hall; the grounds mix cobbles, gravel and grass. Plan where older guests stand for group pictures.

Brentford, Isleworth and the Gunnersbury bus

The postal address is Syon House, Syon Park, Brentford TW8 8JF, but cars use the Park Road entrance in Isleworth (satnav TW7 6AZ). Syon House is about a mile on foot from Brentford or Syon Lane stations. Alternatively take the District line or Overground to Gunnersbury, then bus 237 or 267 to Brent Lea, where the pedestrian entrance is 50 yards away (visitor information). We travel to Syon Park from our Northwood studio.

Parking at Syon Park for wedding guests

The wedding FAQ says there is "plenty of parking", and the large free car park in Syon Park is available for guests (wedding FAQ). A space count, coach arrangements and overnight rules are not published, so ask the events team if guests will leave cars overnight.

Syon Park wedding photography, frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hire Syon Park for a wedding?

Syon's private hire fees for 2027, including VAT, are published for exclusive use of Syon House and the Great Conservatory. In low season (April, May and October) a Wednesday or Thursday is £16,000, a Friday £18,000 and a Saturday £26,000. In high season (June to September) the same days are £18,000, £20,000 and £29,000. Evening hire of the Great Conservatory from 5pm starts at £9,000. Catering is extra and must come from the approved caterers, so the hire fee is only part of the total.

What is the wedding capacity of Syon Park?

It depends on the room, and Syon's own pages do not agree on the Great Hall. The FAQ's list of licensed spaces gives 120, another answer in the same FAQ gives 156, and the June 2025 brochure gives 154. The State Dining Room takes 50 for a ceremony. The Great Conservatory seats 160 for a reception and 120 for an evening ceremony; for standing guests the brochure says 200 and the weddings page says 300. Ask the venue which figure its licence and fire plan carry for your layout.

Can you have confetti at Syon Park?

No. Syon's wedding FAQ says confetti is not allowed anywhere on the estate. Dried lavender may be thrown in the Inner Courtyard, and the venue suggests bubbles as an alternative. Fireworks are not permitted either, though sparklers are suggested. Helium balloons are allowed outside only. Inside Syon House candles must be LED, while real candles are allowed in the Great Conservatory. For photographs, that makes the Inner Courtyard the natural place for a lavender exit after the register is signed.

What time do Syon Park weddings finish?

Music and the bar finish at midnight, there are 20 minutes of drinking-up, and guests must be clear of the Great Conservatory by 12.30am. The wedding FAQ says no extensions are offered, but the 2027 private hire fees PDF lists an optional extension to 1.00am for £3,000. Because the two sources disagree, confirm in writing which applies to your date. The Conservatory also has a 95 dB sound limiter, and Syon says bands of five or six pieces suit it best.

Can I bring my own photographer to Syon Park?

Yes. Syon ties couples to its approved caterers, décor and production companies, but says couples may use their own photographer, videographer, DJ and band. Two rules shape the photography. Drones are strictly prohibited within Syon Park without prior permission from the estate. And because Syon is privately owned, only couples marrying at Syon House or the Great Conservatory may have engagement, pre-wedding and wedding photographs taken on the estate, so a pre-wedding shoot there needs a booked Syon wedding.

Where do you park at Syon Park and which station is nearest?

Syon's wedding FAQ says there is plenty of parking, and guests can use the large free car park in the park. Drivers should use the vehicle entrance on Park Road, Isleworth, with the satnav postcode TW7 6AZ rather than the postal TW8 8JF. By train, Brentford and Syon Lane stations are each about a mile's walk. From Gunnersbury on the District line or Overground, buses 237 and 267 stop at Brent Lea, about 50 yards from the pedestrian entrance.
