Meridian Grand Weddings: Cost, Capacity & Parking

Meridian Grand publishes something few halls do. Its FAQ lists the Hindu wedding sequence it supports by name, mandap ceremonies, havan with the sacred fire, mehndi and jaan arrivals, and it has dedicated pages for Pakistani, Hindu and Jewish weddings. It also publishes a starting price: venue hire from £8,000 for the Meridian Ballroom.

Our studio is in Northwood and we photograph weddings across London, so we are glad to photograph at Meridian Grand; our coverage starts from £750. This guide uses only what the venue publishes; where nothing is, we say so.

Meridian Grand hire: what the venue publishes

The FAQ publishes venue hire from £8,000 for the Meridian Ballroom, with pricing otherwise bespoke by date, room configuration, guest numbers and catering. No date is stated beside the figure. Exclusive hire of the whole venue is priced on enquiry, and payment is a deposit plus staged payments, with terms in writing. Per-head catering prices and Saturday rates beyond the starting figure are not published.

Overall: 120 to 800 guests, with no absolute minimum.
Grand Ballroom: 650 banqueting without a dancefloor, 600 with one, 700 theatre.
Meridian Ballroom: 400 banqueting, 350 with a dancefloor, 400 theatre.
Both together: up to 800, at up to 100 round tables of 12.
Eternity Suite: 100 banqueting, 72 with a dancefloor, 100 theatre. Infinity Suite: 70 banqueting, 48 with a dancefloor, 60 theatre.

The Jewish weddings page lists a white tiled dance floor, staging, cloakroom attendants, air conditioning and an events coordinator as included.

Mandap, havan and nikah, in the venue's own words

The FAQ names mandap ceremonies, havan, mehndi and jaan arrivals as supported, and the Pakistani weddings page covers nikah, baraat and walima. An outdoor ceremony can be held at the building's frontage, with or without a marquee, with stewards managing vehicles. Suppliers can get in from 10am to set up.

Bookings are not exclusive by default: another celebration may run elsewhere in the building, with the foyer partitioned and soundproofed partitions between rooms. There is a licensed bar and corkage is offered. The weddings page still lists an option to use outside catering and the Hindu page mentions allowing outside catering, while the FAQ describes in-house catering and welcomes external kosher caterers, so confirm your caterer's position in writing.

Not published, so ask: written fire-safety conditions for a havan, whether a baraat can process outdoors with dhol or a horse, a vacate-by time, and accessible parking.

Two VIP bridal suites at Meridian Grand

Two VIP bridal suites are published for getting ready on site, each with an ensuite, a safe, tea and coffee and a TV. The FAQ also mentions dedicated spaces for the Tisch and Bedeken at Jewish weddings. Preparation, ceremony and reception can therefore all be photographed in one building.

Pillar-free ballrooms, a skylight and no sound limiter

Planning notes drawn from what the venue publishes:

Pillar-free ballrooms. Nothing breaks the sightline, so a wide frame of the full ceremony works from the back of the room.
A skylight above the Meridian Ballroom. Ask whether it will be open on your day, as it changes the light on the ceremony.
A couples balcony gives a second angle on an entrance.
No sound limiter. The dhol runs at full volume, so we plan for movement and low light.
Shared building. If another wedding shares your date, ask which half of the building and foyer is yours.

A marble foyer and two pillar-free ballrooms

You arrive through a marble foyer with a double staircase. Both ballrooms are pillar-free with chandeliers, and the venue describes in-house decor, lighting and AV. There is no garden or lawn, but the frontage can host an outdoor ceremony.

Edmonton, the North Circular and Meridian Water

Advent Way is in Upper Edmonton, just off the A406 North Circular, and the venue also points to M25 access. Meridian Water station is a 10-minute walk, according to the venue's FAQ. We travel to Edmonton from our studio in Northwood.

300+ free stewarded spaces

The FAQ gives more than 300 on-site spaces, and the weddings page describes a secure car park for more than 300 cars. The Jewish weddings page calls it free and fully stewarded, and says stewards manage vehicles during outdoor frontage ceremonies. Coach parking, EV charging and Blue Badge bays are not published.

The smaller Eternity and Infinity suites take 100 and 70 for banqueting. Confirm the number for your own layout when you enquire, because a dancefloor takes out a good number of seats.

Does Meridian Grand allow a havan?

Yes, according to the venue: its FAQ lists the havan, with the sacred fire, alongside mandap ceremonies, mehndi events and jaan arrivals as part of the Hindu wedding sequence it supports. What it does not publish is any fire-safety condition for the havan, so ask for the terms in writing, including where the mandap may stand. The ballrooms are pillar-free, which gives an unbroken view of the ceremony. Nikah, baraat and walima are covered on its Pakistani weddings page, and an outdoor ceremony can be held at the building's frontage.

What time does the licence run to at Meridian Grand?

The venue's own pages differ. The FAQ describes a late-night licence extending to 3am, while the Jewish weddings page says the late licence runs to 2am, with 3am for Mitzvah Tans. Confirm which applies to your booking. The FAQ also says there is no sound limiter and no music restriction, which matters for a sangeet or a dhol-led entrance. A vacate-by time is not published. For photography, we plan for movement and low light late into the evening, and agree in advance when coverage ends.

How much parking is there at Meridian Grand?

More than 300 cars can park on site, according to both the FAQ and the weddings page, and the Jewish weddings page adds that the car park is free and fully stewarded. The venue is on Advent Way, Upper Edmonton, N18 3AF, just off the A406 North Circular. Meridian Water station is a ten-minute walk, the venue says. Coach parking and accessible bays are not published, so ask about both if you need them, especially for a large baraat or elderly guests.

Will another wedding be at Meridian Grand on the same day?

It can be. The FAQ says bookings are not exclusive by default, so another celebration may run elsewhere in the building, with the foyer partitioned and soundproofed partitions between the rooms.
