The short answer
For couples marrying in Huddersfield, Kaushik Bathia offers award winning wedding photography, with more than twenty five years of experience and over a thousand weddings behind the camera. We work quietly in the background, following the day as it unfolds rather than staging it, so your photographs feel real and never posed for the sake of it. From intimate register office ceremonies to grand country house weddings, and from village churches to garden and marquee celebrations, we photograph every kind of wedding in and around Huddersfield. We have been photographing weddings since 2001, and that long grounding means we read a day's rhythm quickly and are ready for its moments before they arrive. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout West Yorkshire and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Serving Huddersfield
Huddersfield is a Yorkshire town. Plenty of our couples pick a country estate or a garden venue; others prefer a hotel or a village church. We follow every choice across Dewsbury, Brighouse and Holmfirth and the rest of West Yorkshire. Church, courtyard, clifftop or town hall, wherever you choose to make your promises, we frame the reactions on both sides and the quiet glance you share halfway through.
Where formal groups are wanted we keep them efficient and good humoured, so you spend more of the day with your guests and less of it lining up for the camera. We move with the rhythm of the day, quick when the action is fast and patient when it slows, so nothing important slips past unrecorded. We blend honest reportage with a short set of relaxed, guided portraits, so you keep both the candid frames and a handful of timeless ones you will treasure.
Huddersfield is somewhere we are glad to work, and the journey from London is simple. Huddersfield is a Yorkshire town, and we cover couples here as well as in nearby Dewsbury and Wakefield. In and around Huddersfield, we have photographed at venues such as Cedar Court Hotel Huddersfield, Bagden Hall and Woodsome Hall.
Huddersfield is a West Yorkshire town with a strong South Asian community and notable Victorian architecture. Huddersfield railway station, a Grade I listed building on St George's Square, sits on the line between Leeds and Manchester with the M62 nearby. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Greenhead Park, a Victorian park with a bandstand close to the town centre, and Castle Hill and its Victoria Tower overlooking the town gives the day a strong sense of Huddersfield.

What we offer
We set aside quiet time for portraits of the two of you, images made to be framed and enjoyed for years.
We stay from the morning preparations through to the evening, so the whole story is there in one set.
You receive full resolution images you can print, keep and pass on, with no watermark and no small print.
Every kind of wedding
Whether you marry in a country house, a chapel or a city hall, we photograph the ceremony with restraint, letting the day speak for itself. In Huddersfield and beyond, we have photographed ceremonies of every kind, and that experience means we anticipate each moment rather than chase it. We photograph civil ceremonies, religious services and humanist celebrations with the same care, honouring your traditions and the shape your day is meant to take.
Speeches bring the biggest reactions of the day, so we watch both the speaker and the room, catching the joy, the tears and the applause. As the reception gathers pace, we keep moving, finding the hugs between old friends, the children on the dance floor and the quiet corners of joy. We handle the group photographs briskly and kindly, keeping the list short so you are not pulled away from your guests for longer than you need to be.

The whole celebration
We build the timeline around the light as well as the schedule, so portraits and early moments fall when the day looks its most flattering. The hours before the ceremony hold some of the loveliest pictures of all, so we begin with the getting ready and let the anticipation build on its own.
The finished set should feel like the day itself, unhurried in the morning, warm over the meal and loose by the evening. We think about the whole story as we work, so the ceremony, the toasts and the party each get their fair share of the album.
Why choose us
With more than 1000 weddings behind us over twenty-five years, very little takes us by surprise, and that experience keeps us steady when a day runs long. Twenty-five years in means we understand how a wedding day flows, so we can guide you through the parts we handle without ever taking over your day.
Reaching venues across Dewsbury, Brighouse and Holmfirth and the rest of West Yorkshire is part of our routine, and we build travel time into the plan so we are always ready before you are. Wherever the celebration takes you, we come along, covering venues throughout Dewsbury, Brighouse and Holmfirth and right across West Yorkshire without a fuss.

Where we travel
The driving is ours to worry about, not yours, and we think nothing of a longer run to reach a venue in West Yorkshire. Ceremony in one town and reception in another is a pattern we handle smoothly, planning the gap so the pictures never stop, whether that is within Dewsbury, Brighouse and Holmfirth or across West Yorkshire.

Good to know
Weddings often drift a little, and we are relaxed about that. If you would like us to stay past the agreed finish time, we can usually add extra hours on the day, and we will let you know the cost before we carry on. We would much rather stay than miss a memorable moment.
It depends on your schedule. Preparations through to the first dance usually needs eight to ten hours, while a shorter civil ceremony and reception can work in less. We are happy to look at your rough timeline and suggest the hours that cover the moments you care about without paying for time you do not need.
In more than twenty years we have never missed a wedding, but we take the risk seriously. We work within a trusted network of experienced professional photographers, so in a genuine emergency we can arrange skilled cover who shoots to our standard, and we still handle the editing of your images ourselves afterwards.
Many couples find it does. A relaxed pre-wedding session lets you get used to how we work and how you look in your photos, with no pressure and no audience. It also gives us images for save-the-dates or guest books. By your wedding day, being photographed feels natural rather than new.
We know a wedding brings many costs together at the same time, so we are glad to arrange a simple payment plan. Most couples pay the booking fee up front, then settle the balance in a couple of instalments before the day. Just let us know what works for you and we will do our best to help.
You are free to print, share and post your images for personal use as much as you like, with no per-print fees. We simply ask that photos are not sold commercially or edited beyond recognition, and that we are credited if you share them publicly. We keep the copyright, which lets us show a few images in our portfolio.
It depends on your plans, but as a guide we suggest around thirty minutes for family groups, twenty for couple portraits and a little breathing room after the ceremony. We would rather you enjoy the day than rush between set-ups, so we build the schedule to feel relaxed. We will talk this through with you.
