That could be a ceremony for 30 guests in the Victorian-style room at Huddersfield Town Hall, a larger town hall room for up to 200, or an outdoor ceremony in the 40 acres of gardens at Bagden Hall in Scissett. Greenhead Park, a Grade II listed Victorian park half a mile west of the town centre, suits relaxed couple portraits, and the Grade I listed station frontage on St George's Square gives a more formal Victorian backdrop. An engagement session, a second photographer and a fine art album can all be added. We travel from Northwood; travel and any overnight stay are quoted in writing before you book.
Victorian architecture gives this West Yorkshire town more usable backdrops than its size suggests, starting at the railway station itself, a Grade I listed building on St George's Square. Castle Hill and its Victoria Tower overlook the town and offer the elevated view, though the climb has to be budgeted into a timeline rather than added on impulse. Greenhead Park, a Victorian park with a bandstand close to the town centre, is the quicker option, and the bandstand works as shelter as well as a frame. Cedar Court Hotel Huddersfield, Bagden Hall and Woodsome Hall carry the celebrations. The town has a strong South Asian community and the days run accordingly. The station sits on the line between Leeds and Manchester with the M62 nearby, so a London-based photographer travels up the night before and starts at first light.
