Brighton is a vibrant seaside city with grand venues. We photograph Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings throughout Hove, Worthing and Shoreham and the surrounding towns. At a Gujarati mandap we know the hastamelap and the four mangal pheras, and we photograph them in the order your priest keeps rather than a generic script.

We are at ease with large, multi-day celebrations and intimate ceremonies alike. We are calm and unhurried, gathering the whole story without ever getting in the way. For the jaimala and the joota chupai we stay close to the fun, because these lighter rituals carry as much of the family's character as the solemn ones.

We have photographed weddings in and around Brighton for years, and Brighton is a vibrant seaside city with grand venues, which makes its venues and its traffic no mystery to us. Brighton is a lively East Sussex seaside city known for its Regency architecture, The Lanes and inclusive culture. Brighton railway station is on the Brighton Main Line with fast trains to London Victoria and London Bridge. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Preston Park, the city's largest park with lawns, a walled rock garden and mature trees, with The Royal Pavilion, an exotic Indo Saracenic royal palace built for the Prince Regent close by for a striking backdrop.

The rituals that make your day

We work in the background of the priest, the granthi or the imam, reading their rhythm so the ceremony flows without a photographer in the way. A ceremony is a sequence of small sacred acts, not one photograph, and we tell it as the story it is, from the first ritual to the last. For Tamil and South Indian families, the muhurtham and the tying of the thali are the sacred centre of the ceremony.

The dhol and dancing of the baraat are pure joy, and we capture every bit of the energy. The dhol player sets the pulse of the baraat, and we work close to the drum and the dancers so the picture carries the sound within it. From the first event to the last, we tell the full story of the celebration.
