Commercial photography in Ilford

Commercial work covers Ilford and reaches Barkingside, Chadwell Heath and Newbury Park. Nearly all of it takes place where you trade: shop and showroom interiors, the people working in them, and the things you sell. Northwood only comes into it when a product needs a plain background and controlled light. Interiors and the people inside them are usually booked together, since the two want the same access.

One thing to settle at the booking is which hour your place can be free of customers. Interiors read as interiors only when nobody is walking through them, and that hour does more for the pictures than any amount of extra lighting.

What we offer

What we offer: commercial photography in Ilford

01

Prints & Wall Art

Shop and showroom interiors photographed in the quiet hour before you open, rather than around customers.

02

Fast Turnaround

Ceiling lights off and window light in, or the other way about, but never the two at once.

03

Product Ranges

One booking covers the premises, the team and the products, instead of three separate visits.

Local and experienced

Crisp, consistent, on-brand imagery

A half day covers a small shop: the interior, the frontage and whoever is on the rota that morning. A full day covers a larger site or a bigger team. Anything shifted to clear a frame goes back where it was before we leave.

We colour-correct against a grey card photographed in the room, so the paint on your walls comes back the colour it actually is. Files arrive ready to drop straight into a website, and at a size that survives printing should you need it.

Good to know

Commercial Photographer in Ilford, FAQs

Quickly. We know businesses in Ilford cannot wait around when a launch or new website is looming. Most commercial galleries are ready within a few days, delivered through an online gallery in both web and print sizes. Urgent jobs can often be moved up the queue.

Not a great deal. It helps to know how the images will be used, and to have any brand guidelines, a rough shot list and the products, dishes or people ready. We discuss everything in advance, settle on a plan and take care of the rest ourselves. Ilford is easy to reach: Ilford station sits on the Great Eastern Main Line and is served by the Elizabeth line into central London.

Two to three weeks is usually plenty, but our diary is rarely the constraint. For Ilford premises work the date is set by the hour your place can be free of customers, and for a team it is the day everybody is genuinely in. Both take longer to pin down than the booking does. If a product shoot at Northwood is part of it, add a week for samples to arrive.

There is no single price, because a small product range is far less involved than a full brand and team shoot. Share what the images are for and how many items or people we are photographing, and we will prepare a tailored quote for your Ilford business.

Yes. Each commercial image is colour-managed and supplied in both web and print resolutions, so what Ilford clients approve on screen is exactly what appears on the website and in printed catalogues, brochures or menus. We are happy to provide specific crops on request too.

Commercial work in Ilford is mostly premises work. The main town of a borough carries the shops, showrooms and small offices that serve it, and those all get photographed where they stand. Two problems follow, and only one of them is about the amount of light. The first is colour. A retail or clinical interior almost always runs ceiling strips at one colour temperature while daylight arrives through the frontage at another, and a camera can be balanced for one or the other, never both. Adding more light on top simply introduces a third. The answer is subtraction: kill the ceiling and shoot the room on window light, or shoot after dark on the ceiling alone. A room recorded on both at once has green faces down one side and blue ones down the other, and it never fully corrects. The second is access. A working shop interior photographs properly only when it is empty, which in practice means the first hour of the day with the shutters up and nobody in yet, or a Sunday. That belongs in the booking call, not the morning itself. Team portraits at a premises have their own failure mode and it is not lighting. What makes a row of staff pictures look wrong is the camera-to-subject distance changing from person to person: photograph one from slightly closer and their features broaden while nobody else's do. A floor mark for the camera, a floor mark for the sitter and one fixed focal length solves it, and those same marks let next year's arrivals join the row without a reshoot.
