A varmala lasts a second or two and nobody performs it twice, so one camera holds the groom's face while another follows the garland. Saptapadi wants seven distinct frames instead of seven versions of one: feet, the tied cloth at a shoulder, the priest's hands, the mothers watching, then a wide one that returns the fire to the middle. Kanyadaan belongs to the father, so it gets shot from his side. Vidaai gets shot from the car.
