During the varmala we watch the hands and the eyes, so the teasing lift, the near miss and the finished garland exchange are all there when you look back at the set.
Sehra bandi, when the groom's turban and the veil of flowers are tied by his family, is short and quietly proud, and we photograph it before the baraat noise begins outside. Ganesh sthapana at the start of the celebrations is short and easily overlooked in the busyness of the house, and we make a point of covering it so the run of events begins properly. We stay for the after-hours of the reception when the formalities relax, photographing the late dancing and the quiet corners where the day finally settles into celebration.
