Whatever your faith, the auspicious hour sets the tempo, and we plan our positions around the muhurat or muhurtham so the sacred minutes are never rushed for a picture.

Portsmouth is a naval port city largely set on Portsea Island, home to a long Royal Navy history. Portsmouth Harbour railway station connects to the South Western Main Line and to the Isle of Wight ferry. For portraits away from the celebration, Southsea Common, a wide seafront green stretching along the shoreline works beautifully, and The Spinnaker Tower, a tall sail shaped observation tower at Gunwharf Quays adds a real sense of place.

The sangeet is an evening of music and rehearsed dance, and we capture all of its energy. For Gujarati families the garba and the raas fill the evening with colour and movement, and we love photographing them.
