Northwood Golf Club is the closest venue to our studio of any we cover — both sit on Rickmansworth Road in Northwood, HA6. That matters more than it sounds: a morning at home in Northwood or Pinner and a reception here is one of the few combinations in this set with no travel gap to plan around.
It is a modest venue and honest about it. Three function rooms and a terrace, the largest taking 140 guests with a stage, a dance floor and a full audio-visual system, and a gallery restaurant looking over the course towards Ruislip Woods. What it does not publish is the part that decides an Asian wedding: there is no stated catering policy and no stated ceremony licence.

What the club does not publish, and why it matters
This is a short section, because the club publishes very little. Its own site describes the rooms, their capacities and the bar, and stops there. It does not state whether it holds a civil ceremony licence, and it does not state whether outside caterers are permitted — the two questions that decide whether a Hindu, Sikh or Muslim wedding can happen here at all.
There is a bar serving alcohol in the Ransome Lounge, which tells you the club is not dry, but says nothing about whether alcohol can be excluded for a nikah, or whether a vegetarian kitchen can be arranged. Nothing is published on open flame, so a havan or lit diyas cannot be assumed.
The realistic reading is that this is a golf club that hosts wedding and christening parties, funeral wakes and formal dinners, and that a reception here is straightforward while a full religious ceremony needs a conversation. Ask about the licence, outside caterers and open flame in one email before anything else.
A stage, a gallery over Ruislip Woods, and a 140 ceiling
- The downstairs room has a stage and a dance floor built in, so the evening pictures have a fixed geography — useful, and worth lighting before guests arrive.
- The gallery restaurant looks over the course towards Ruislip Woods. That is the view to use for the couple at golden hour, and it faces away from the clubhouse.
- The terrace seats 50 outdoors and is the only outdoor space published. In summer it is where the group pictures work; in winter there is no covered alternative published.
- 140 in the main room is the ceiling. This is a venue for a smaller wedding or a reception following a ceremony elsewhere, not for a 400-guest reception.
- Disabled access to the gallery is by stairlift, which is slow. If elderly relatives are in the group pictures, plan the timings around that rather than the schedule.
- No catering policy is published. If your caterer is coming in, confirm kitchen access before the day, not on it.
A parkland clubhouse on Rickmansworth Road
A parkland golf club on Rickmansworth Road in Northwood, sixteen miles from central London and within easy reach of the M25, M40 and M1. The clubhouse holds three function rooms and an outdoor terrace: the downstairs room with its stage and dance floor, a gallery restaurant raised to look across the course towards Ruislip Woods, and the Ransome Lounge with the bar. The club publishes no listing status, no build date and no architect — it is a working members' club whose rooms are hired out, rather than a house with a history to tell.
